Description

My name is Ciaran, 29 years old from the west coast of Ireland (County Kerry). We are from quite a rural area and am used to working hard. We have some beautiful places nearby and I love to hike the biggest mountains in Ireland! I spent most of my free time outdoors swimming in the Atlantic Ocean(the colder the better), cycling, running, movement, camping are all things I could not live without.

I have a civil engineering degree and a master's in sustainable building design. I spent my summers growing up working with a landscape gardener. And have spent time as a civil engineer in London and Australia. As well as having spent time working as a labourer, solar panel installer, and general operative in various positions around Australia. My most recent employment has been as a sustainability engineer working on passive house projects around the world.

I have recently fell out of love with the 9-5 working life and miss manual labour and the outdoors. I have an urge to explore new opportunities, meet new people and experience new things. I have a strong passion for sustainability, eco friendly living, self sufficiency and reforestation projects. My dream is to one day own some land of my own and return it to nature while also being able to survive self sufficiently from produce grown on the land, I hope to learn as much as I can in my time working away.

Exercise is necessary for me to stay happy, whether that is hiking, running, swimming, yoga, or a number of team sports.

I love cooking, learning new recipes and especially enjoying my food with others.

Other cultures are fascinating for me and I always find myself energised and enriched after meeting people from a different background to me.

There is so much more I would love to share such as my passion for travel, music and various adventures! I am very excited at the work away opportunities that lie ahead of me.

I have a decent knowledge of sustainable building design through my experience. I also have some limited knowledge of drainage systems, wetlands and pumps.

I have hands-on experience working with a range of power tools, with some shuttering and labouring work during my time in Australia. I have a full Irish license and am very comfortable behind a wheel, reversing a trailer etc. is no trouble.
