  • Description

    Hi 🌱

My name is Chloe, I am 22 and my goal is to work for a workaway mission from the 20th of august to the 8th of september. I'd like to do that before I start studying again for cartoon animation (as an illustrator). During this workaway, I would also like to draw landscapes and people that are around me (during my free time).

    About me :
I studied audiovisual production (for tv shows, live action movies, animation movies, FX) in Paris for three years. My studies consisted in learning how to organize the creation of a media in every aspect of it. After working for an animated show as an assistant producer, I decided to change my career path and to learn how to be an animator for cartoons. I’m taking over my studies in september.

I’ve already had great workaway experiences such as being a French teacher at a holiday camp in Switzerland, working as a video editor for a feminist flamenco event in Spain, participating in creating an eco-friendly home with a spanish family, being part of the cleaning staff in a hostel of the Wicklow hills (Ireland) and working in an eco-friendly farm in Portugal.
I was so happy to work on these different projects which taught me so much and were so meaningful. I loved meeting people, hearing about their pathlifes, learning about their cultures, understanding their beliefs and learning from what they know.

I really like art in general and especially movies (both live-action and animation). My favorites are Mustang (Deniz Gamze Erguven) Tomboy, (Céline Sciamma), Azur et Asmar (Michel Ocelot) , Cleo de 5 à 7 (Agnès Varda) and Guaxuma (Nara Normande).

Creativity has always been a part of my life. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I began to create short movies with a team at school when I was 15. I also practiced aerial silk in a circus club. I dance a lot too, whether at events, with friends, or sometimes alone. All of these activities helped me to develop my social skills and more.

I am a hard worker, sensitive and love to take care of the people around me. I enjoy partying too, especially dancing with others in any situation. I also appreciate spending time alone to draw or read (I’m currently trying to read more of Virginie Despentes, a French feminist).
French is my native language, I’m fluent in English (I can understand and speak it easily), and I can speak a little Italian. I’m also currently learning Spanish (I understand a bit).

I'll be happy to meet you soon :)

  • More details about your skills

During my gap year (2022/2023), I've spent :
-1 month as a french teacher in Switzerland (Swiss-German part) :
This taught me how to take care of children, find games and activities to learn or just to have fun.

-1 month as a housekeeper in Ireland :
I know how to clean big spaces, prepare beds, ...

    - 1 month in Portugal to help in a farm.
I learnt how to take of different kind of animals (chickens, geese, ducks, dogs...); How to plant veggies, fruits, how to take care of them.

    - 3 months in Spain :
I did a lot of housework for a surf camp (especially painting) in Somo
I was an editor for a Feminist Flamenco event in Tamallancos. I was in charge of filming and editing video to promote the event on instagram.
I worked as a party leader and cleaning staff at a hostel in Madrid.
I finished my trip helping create an eco-friendly home with a spanish family (digging a hole for a pipe to recycle water, or sieving earth to plant some vegetables).

Moreover my studies were about audiovisual, and learning how to create movies or other audiovisual project.

Here is an exemple of a short movie I directed during my last year of high-school : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuuuulSaHCM

After High school, my studies consisted in learning how to build an audiovisual project (tv shows, live action movies, animation movies, special effect). Thusly, I could know every side of it : Legal aspect, Financial aspect, General organization (build a work team, find the work material, build plannings and follow the evolution of the project). I also worked in a VFX Company (FixStudio) as a post-production assistant for one year and on cartoon show for eight month.

It helped me improve my teamwork and communication skills.

On the other side of my study and my professional life, I had hobbies :

    - Drawing :

I like to draw with a random pencil and, sometimes, use colors (posca or watercolor).

I like to draw sculptures in museum or just people in random places. Moreover, I really like to scratch imaginary characters on my notebooks.

    -Cinema :
I really like to buil projects with friends. Here are some exemples of what i did.

🍓Ouaté – live action short movie

Ouaté is a short movie created for a short-movie contest in Bordeaux (we won the first price). I directed it with 3 of my friends.

Ouaté is telling the story of Gragé, a man who is hearing voices behind his door. After being scared of it, he decides to fight it in every possible way.

This is a metaphor about social anxiousness.

Here is the link leading to the short movie : https://youtu.be/vDUd2YWytBs

🍓 Le Gouter – live show broadcast on Twitch

The concept of the show is the gathering of friends around a cake. During the show time, the different persons deliver a podcast about one common theme.

For the first episode the theme was « Metamorphosis ». The podcast I wrote called « Arts-Plastics » was dedicated to the discovering of a young artist’s creations. I designed the decor so it seemed like we talked in teenager’s room from the 2000’s.
