Rowan brings over seven years of experience in trade finance, aiding the connection between African farmers and global markets. Recently completing his executive MBA, he excels in business operations and thrives in rural settings, adept at improvising with limited resources. Outside of work, Rowan has great experience with many types of physical exercise, cooking and woodwork. He spent a large portion of his early life in remote African wildlife reserves including managing a yearly child-focused charity program within the parks. As a result, he is comfortable in rural environments making do with the supplies available to keep things running smoothly.
Chelsea has a versatile background in Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, and operations, managing teams of up to 16. She now runs a consultancy aiding tech startups in scaling their operations. Both of us are skilled cooks who love preparing meals together. Our passion extends to gardening and outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, and surfing, ensuring we're always ready for an adventure. Outside of work, Chelsea has spent a lot of her time in her father's woodworking factory completing DIY projects and helping with her mother's interior decorating business. She volunteered walking dogs at a local dog shelter and recently started learning to make silver jewellery.Age

What else ...
Rowan and Chelsea have spent the last eleven years pushing hard in their careers, gaining solid experience and achieving success that now allows them to enjoy life’s next chapter together. Having both lost parents young, they've learnt how important it is to be present and to take time to truly connect with the world around us. Life is short, and the world is vast and full of wonders.
Travel for us is an opportunity to reset, gain new perspectives, and appreciate everything we have. It’s why we've chosen Workaway for our sabbatical—it’s the perfect platform to connect with new people and contribute our skills to meaningful projects. We're excited to immerse ourselves in different communities, share our knowledge, and hopefully make a lasting impact wherever we go. This isn't just a break from work; it's about enriching our lives and those of others by being fully present in each moment and seizing all that life offers. Some more information
