I’m a warm, fun and hardworking person excited to travel this summer. I’ve been running a charity for the last 7 years and am taking a break before my next role and hoping to improve my French. I love being in nature (especially mountains and the sea) kayaking, hiking, reading and history. I love spending time with children, and have done a lot of work/volunteering with 3-11 year olds. I am passionate about sustainability, I don’t have any real experience with horticulture/DIY but am happy to learn. My French is not fluent but I’m working on improving it and confident to have a go! I’m friendly, mature and get along well with people and I’m looking forward to connecting with hosts through workaway.

Je suis une personne gentille, amusante et travailleuse, impatiente de voyager cet été. Je dirige une association caritative depuis 7 ans et je prends une pause avant mon prochain rôle et j'espère améliorer mon français. J'aime être dans la nature (surtout les montagnes et la mer), faire du kayak, de la randonnée, de la lecture et de l'histoire. J'aime passer du temps avec les enfants et j'ai fait beaucoup de travail/bénévolat avec des enfants de 3 à 11 ans. Je suis passionné par le développement durable, je n'ai pas de réelle expérience en horticulture/bricolage mais je suis heureux d'apprendre. Mon français ne parle pas couramment mais je travaille à l’améliorer et je suis confiant pour tenter le coup ! Je suis sympathique, mature et je m'entends bien avec les gens et j'ai hâte de communiquer avec les hôtes via Workaway.

I have extensive skills and experience working with children, including 6 years of volunteering on a residential summer camp for 8-11s, regular after school club volunteering at a project for disadvantaged children in my area, working with children in my job at a charity and spending time with friends and family. I have lots of ideas for fun game and activities and love going on adventures with children. I’m responsible and confident to gently manage challenging behaviours safely, including SEN / additional needs. References/ UK DBS check available.
I’m enthusiastic and willing to support with cooking/light housekeeping and whatever needs doing.
I don’t have extensive DIY/restoration or horticulture experience, beyond a bit of light domestic gardening and small repairs, but I’m a fast learner. I’d be keen to know more about sustainable permaculture in particular.
