Description
Hi there! I’m an enthusiastic solo traveler with a passion for exploring new cultures. I’ve been fortunate to visit many parts of Europe, as well as some countries in Africa and Asia, and I’m currently taking a gap year to continue this journey. I’m eager to contribute my skills and energy to projects related to education, women’s empowerment, animal rescue, or hospitality.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in Education. I’ve worked as an English and IELTS teacher, and my most recent role was as a postgraduate admissions officer at a Scottish university, where I gained valuable experience in communication and administration. I’ve also spent five years living and working in Scotland, which has given me near-native fluency in English. Alongside Mandarin, I also speak intermediate Spanish. I am learning German as well!
Coming from a family in the hotel business, I’ve helped with reception and check-ins at our family-run hostel and hotel. This has given me hands-on experience in hospitality, which I’m excited to bring to any opportunity. I’m adaptable, hardworking, and always eager to learn.
I’m easy-going, friendly, and love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. I’m looking forward to contributing wherever I can and making the most of this exciting chapter of my life.Interests

More details about your skills
I am deeply committed to personal development and have built a diverse skill set through both hands-on experience and formal certifications.
1. Teaching & Education:
When graduating from college, I once worked as a kindergarten teacher working with toddlers from 4 - 12 (we taught through games and dancing, etc). I have also worked as an English teacher giving group lessons and private tutoring to teenagers (mostly in primary and high school). I also had experience working as an IELTS teacher working with adults from all walks of life ( 1- 1). While in the UK, I enjoyed volunteering as a teaching assistant in a local Mandarin language school showing locals my culture and my language.
I hold a 120-hour TESOL certificate (CPD Certified), which has given me a strong foundation in English language instruction.
I have additional knowledge in supporting individuals with unique needs through courses like "Understanding Autism" (CPD Certified, University of Kent) and "Understanding Anxiety, Depression, and CBT" (CPD Certified, University of Reading).
These qualifications, along with my teaching experience, equip me to create inclusive, engaging learning environments.
2. Management & Organization:
Having assisted in managing a family-run hostel, I am familiar in hospitality, guest relations, and operational management.
In my role as a postgraduate admissions officer, I regularly worked with people from all over the world, including individuals from Europe, India, Nigeria, and Pakistan, and many more, improving my cross-cultural communication and organizational skills.
3. Language Proficiency:
I am fluent in Mandarin and English, and speak intermediate Spanish. I am also actively learning German to expand my communication skills further.
My ability to connect with people across language barriers has been a key asset in both teaching and hospitality work.
4. Mental Health Awareness:
I’m passionate about mental health and have undergone extensive training, including completing Shout’s volunteer program, where I provided crisis support via text. This experience taught me how to handle sensitive situations with empathy and calm, enhancing my communication and emotional intelligence skills.
I have also completed courses on "Integrating Care: Depression, Anxiety, and Physical Illness" (CPD Certified, King’s College London), which furthered my understanding of how mental health issues can impact overall well-being.
These skills, combined with my adaptable nature, allow me to thrive in diverse environments and support individuals facing emotional challenges.Age

What else ...
In my free time, I love staying active and enjoying the outdoors. Indoor climbing, swimming, pole dancing, and yoga are a few of my favorite ways to stay fit and energized. I also enjoy short hikes in nature and spending time at the gym to keep myself physically and mentally balanced.
I’m passionate about animals, especially dogs. I have two family dogs who bring me so much joy, which is why I feel a desire to contribute to animal rescue and care during my travels if given a chance. Connecting with animals and helping them is something that deeply resonates with me.
I am also trying to complete a lesser dream of mine of becoming a photographer! Some more information
