Description
Vegan for the animals🐰 & the environment 🌍. I live with my partner Khalil, and our adopted fur friends Basha😽, Jamie🐈 & Casa🐶 the threepawd. In my daily life I am active in the Party for the Animals in my hometown and working as a civil servant, aiming to bring some positive change from inside the government.
I enjoy connecting to people from different cultures, that's why I previously lived in various countries in the Middle East.
A sustainable and cruelty free life is my ultimate goal. We are currently in the process of starting a tiny house community and in the long-term we dream of starting our own animal sanctuary with permaculture garden.
I would love to build some experience and that's why I am on workaway.
What I can offer:
- experience with working with animals (particularly cats and dogs)
- basic knowledge and experience with permaculture
- vegan cooking skills
- organisational skills
- Languages: Dutch & English (fluent), French, Hebrew, Arabic & German (basic)Interests

I have two years experience with a small permaculture vegetable garden. I've had multiple cats and now I take care of the sweetest special needs (three-legged) rescue dog.
I have practical experience with a low waste and sustainable lifestyle. I worked at the fundraising department of a NGO and currently professionally advising on EU subsidies, so I can help with applying for grants. Volunteering is for me a two way street in which constructice feedback is exchanged in a friendly way. I love to think about how to improve your project and management as well as to learn practical skills during the daily activities.
For those interested I can teach piano (played over 20 years), musical composition and basic music theory.Age

What else ...
I am social and open by nature. I love getting to know new people and gain more knowledge about new topics. Which means I can ask a lot of questions, but they come from a place of curiosity rather than judgement 😄. Some of my favorite topics to talk about are cultural differences, societal challenge, politics but also lighter topics such as food and my pets. When dealing with difficult situations, I tend to use humour to keep the conversation light.
