Western Cape, South Africa - from Jan 2025 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Hello, my name is Cathleen, a really soon turning 22 years old young woman who loves nature and people. I am staying in South Africa until september 2025 and I want to use this time to discover everything I can about South African's cultures, and to learn more about self-sufficiency, my dream life being to live off grid. I am actually working in a farm, gardening and milking the cows with people with intellectual disabilities. I have already done it in Sweden, and wanted to experience it again because I just love to work with people and to learn from them, according to my values which are respect, integrity of the human being but also of the nature. I love to be outside, feel my hands in the soil and to know what I have in my plate. I enjoy a lot to be with animals, they make me feel peaceful. I am a curious person, in fact I have many skills in different areas (farming, sport teacher degree, art such as singing, dancing or drawing, cooking...). I am a really positive person, always trying my best to make everything work out. I am also interested about you, because after telling you about me, I want to discover what beautiful person you are.

First of all, I have a sport teacher degree, specialized in Adapted Physical Activity. That means that I have knowldeges in many different kind of sports, and that I can adapt them according the needs of the people who can maybe be elderly people, have some sickness and may at the hospital, people with physical or intellectual disability. I am used to work a lot with people with intellectual disability, such as winter and summer camps, taking parts in events, working as a home care the week-end a student job, volunteering in organisations. I am a hard worker, always considering the well-being of people around me and it is important to me to deserve what I achieved.
I've been working in farms as a volunteer in Sweden and now South Africa, in a carpentry, a kitchen, a bakery, a garden, milking cows and in a dairy.
I'm always here to help, and don't mind being dirty or waking up early. I am already used to wake up at 5:30 to milk the cows.
So, according to what I said before, my first language is french, but I can also speak english fluently, swedish, and french sign language, currently trying to learn german.
