Description
Hello!
California is the part of this world that I call home. I studied Environmental Science in University, with an emphasis on sustainable development and environmental justice. Afterward, I worked at a secondary school for three years, teaching various subjects including Environmental Science and English. I became the director of our learning center where I coordinated student support classes and student life on campus. I left my job and took one year off to travel Central and South America, a dream finally realized. I'm learning Spanish, climbing mountains/volcanos, and trying to connect with the locations I visit by staying longer in one place.
When I return to California, I'll begin my Master's program in Environmental Science and Management, with a focus on marine resource management. I'm an avid ocean lover and certified Divemaster. Being with my community, enjoying nature, traveling, eating wholesome food, and living a simple life bring me much happiness.Interests

More details about your skills
From working at a secondary school with kids aged 13-18, I learned to connect with kids while maintaining professionalism and compassion. I'm proactive and organized, capable of effectively coordinating projects and events. I enjoy being helpful and doing things efficiently and well. I have 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience in all subjects with neurodiverse learners, where I always retain patience, kindness and flexibility.
In college, I received my Permaculture Design Certificate and worked in a permaculture garden for two years. I have basic knowledge of planting, pruning, harvesting, and composting. More than anything - I love to learn new things and pick skills up quickly.Age

What else ...
I'm interested in traveling and learning about different cultures. I enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, running, biking, and basically any sport done outside. I love to play card games and cook communal meals. I live a healthy lifestyle and am looking for a holistic workaway experience where I can contribute to the local community, practice Spanish, get into a routine, and hang out/laugh with like minded people.
