Description
I have come to love international travel in the past couple of years. I have done three international volunteer trips- one with OlanchoAid and two with International Volunteer Headquarters, whereas some other volunteers were talking about how much they liked Work Away. After some research I decided to give Work Away a try. One volunteer assignment I had included teaching English as a second language and the other two involved working on a horse ranch. Things I enjoy other than traveling include spending time with my husband and two cats, reading politics and true crime, being outdoors and staying active as long as the weather cooperates, cooking and arts and crafts.

I have limited experience teaching English as a second language in Honduras. I am retired Army so I have experience working in austere environments and living in tents. I have some journalism and photography experience and have published work that you can find online under my name. I worked twice on a horse ranch in Guatemala and volunteer at my local animal shelter in Oklahoma. I speak some Spanish. I have lived in many countries but most recently Honduras and Guatemala. I am flexible and can do many unskilled labor jobs such as cleaning, painting, cooking, and caring for animals.
