Description
I have taken a year off work to cycle across Europe to Greece, and also want to spend some time in Turkey, Albania, and some of the other balkan countries.
I am an economist and I'm really passionate about the things I've worked on, including local government finance, regulation and local growth. However I really wanted to take this year out and allow myself to reassess what's important to me. Of course i want to enjoy myself but I also want to learn about other ways I can contribute to society, ideally by interacting more directly with those I want to help.

I am comfortable around children and have experience working with them; I help lead the children's group at my local church, and have done some volunteering in a special needs school also. I am definitely a team worker, but have also taken part in a leadership skills course.

What else ...
I have taken a year out of my work as an economist to cycle across Europe and spend some time in Greece, Turkey and the Balkans. However I am still very passionate about my work, particularly when it comes to making cities livable places. I am a very keen cyclist and in particular long tours where I can watch the landscape change. Hiking and kayaking are a couple of my other favourite outdoor pursuits. Recently I have been trying to journal and nurture my interest in writing. Honestly, I wouldn't say I'm any good, but I think it's one of my few creative outlets and id like to see how others express themselves through the written word. This year I am very open to discovering new interests and learning about other ways of life.
