  • Description

Hi! My name is Michael and I'm travelling Australia, learning as much as I can about permaculture and regenerative agriculture as I go!

I'm keen to learn as much as I can and to "get my hands dirty"! Something I'm keen to do after escaping my London office job.

I love meeting not only fellow travellers, but also those who have chosen to settle down, and work the land. I love hearing their experiences and stories.

I look forward to meeting you!

  • More details about your skills

I worked as a trades assistant for three months on a roofing project. We also put up a shed, renovated the bathroom and put up a play park. I used a whipper snipper and chainsaw extensively maintaining the grounds.

I spent a month time with my cousin on his permaculture farm. I have learned some property maintenance, gardening and basic carpentry. I also helped him prepare the house for B&B guests, who I also greeted and showed around.

For two weeks I was caretaker on a hobby farm with B&B, I was responsible for feeding and looking after the chooks and sheep, and even had to herd a bull back to its pen! Twice! I also had to clean the B&B, which had 9 beds, and would often give guests a tour of the farm animals.

I have since been volunteering on a permaculture farm, and have spent some time planting, weeding, line trimming and mowing.

I have spent three weeks on an eco building project in Narara, working with timber and hand tools.
I am particularly keen to learn as much as I can about gardening, and am on the look out for people from whom I can learn as much as possible.
