Description
I love the outdoors and love learning about new cultures and places. I love watching the sunset on the beach with good company or going for a walk or hike. This year I want to experience new things and discover new places. There is so much to see and I have only made a small dent so far in my journey. I am excited to meet people with different insights and perspectives on life. Music is something I really enjoy, I love when people give me recommendations of songs they think I would like especially from different languages. I also really love waitressing/ bartending, I have a job at home which I do whenever I am not travelling. This is a job where I am able to be myself, make people laugh and do as much as I can to make sure they have an great night.

I have years of customer service experience working in hospitality and retail which is something that I love it has allowed me to engage with people from loads of different backgrounds and have interesting conversation. I also love being outdoors and prefer physical activity and keeping occupied . I am always keen to learn new skills and get involved. Growing up I lived with horses and rode horses everyday so I would feel very confident handling horses or have a more informed opinion on how to care for them properly. Following this I love animals and would be able to care for anything that has a beating heart! I have not done childcare but I would be keen to do any au pair work, teaching English for example. I have always been passionate about English literature/ language, so I would love to share this passion. I have done a fair bit of gardening now, from creating soil from a compost, planting vegetables, making fences, weeding and more.

Beth stayed with us for 3 weeks and was responsible for a list of daily watering tasks. This was such an amazing workaway experience, I spent 3 weeks in Michelle and Phils beauitful farmhouse in Orgiva, a small village in the Alpujarra region. I had a lot of fun exploring the town and getting to feel… read more the vibe of the place, this is something which I wouldn't of had the opportunity to do if I didn't have the knowledge from Michelle and Phil and what to go and see and explore. There was a bus you could take to Granada, or you could take the bus up to the mountain villages and discover them which was another thing i really loved. We took the bus up to Capilera and then followed a hiking route down the hill from one village to another, the views are beautiful in this area you will not be disappointed. Michelle and Phil included us in as much as they could taking us with them to their trips out and also taking us with them on a Hike following a river to the sea. They would harvest food from the garden to eat at lunch and supper, their cooking was amazing and I was encouraged to try new foods and meals as i can sometimes be a picky eater. They did their best to cater to my preferences. They had a very flexible approach to the work, 4 hours a day with it being done in whichever order you like , with some days I worked 2 hours in the morning then spent the afternoon in orgiva before the shops closed for the siesta, and then some days working 3 hours in the morning then spending the last hour helping them with the water channels which provides water for the entire garden creating a stream going all throughout which is very cool. I enjoyed re connecting with nature and the outdoors and spent the majority of my time outside in their lovely garden. I learnt a lot about gardening and permaculture it was very eye opening to see such a sustainable and eco friendly environment compared to the modern grey world in the UK. We even planted our own avacado trees ( mines named Frida) .The only negative I could take would be that at times I would feel slightly excluded as Phil would seem to direct his conversation mainly towards Emma the other workawayer I spent my time with, she also made this experience unforgettable I'm very grateful to her for the time we shared you would be lucky to have her as your workawayer. I did speak to Michelle about this and I always felt included/ heard when she was around and I felt very comfortable coming to her with that thought.

Bethany helped us a lot during the week she was here. She took care of the animals no matter which weather we had. We also made fresh soil from compost and then planted hundreds of little Veggies. Beth was very friendly, open-hearted and funny. we hope that she will visit us again soon
