My life has been one beautiful after another and now is the time for the grandest one of them all: Traveling the world with the love of my life!
I was blessed to have grown up in Kenya. My childhood was full of rich experiences; from epic safaris sleeping out under the stars with the sounds of hippos bellowing from the river below, to swimming with dolphins in the Indian ocean - nature, beauty, adventure, and the incredible fellow human beings I've met along the way has always captivated my imagination and served as my motivation to continue jumping into the great unknown. Although taking the leap of faith is scary, I believe one must continually do so in order to grow and be in tune with the cosmic dance of the universe.
I moved to the US when I was 14 years old and went on to get my Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science and International Relations. I wrote my senior thesis about the Ivory Trade, specifically urging the EU and Japan to ban their legal domestic trades of elephant ivory as they contribute to the ongoing massacre of elephants every day. Protecting the one planet we have has been my mission since childhood.
After graduating, I knew I wanted to pursue a job in conservation, so I became a Park Ranger in Colorado. Protecting the natural resources, educating visitors on the wonders that lay before them, and enforcing regulations to maintain public safety made the workweek fly by. I loved it all!
The bug to shake things up while I'm young and bold kept buzzing in my ear, so I heeded the call and moved to Los Angeles where I became a Fitness Instructor and Personal trainer. I love working with individuals - in the real world not behind a screen - to become better together. I've been an athlete my entire life and physical activity is definitely a key to my happiness - so much so that I recently ran my first ultramarathon in the mountains of Oregon! I will not be doing that again (At least not until next year ;)
Long story short, I'm deeply grateful to even be alive and I want to make the absolute most of it while I'm still here. I feel like my whole life has been building up to this intrepid adventure. We can't wait to learn in wide-eyed wonder everything we possibly can about the places and faces that cross our path.Interests

Jackson:
As a former Park Ranger: conservation, public education, first aid, conflict resolution, diplomacy, emergency response, and law enforcement are all skills I developed through experience on the job.
I currently work as a Group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Every day, I practice daily like leadership skills, coaching skills, public speaking, motivating others, performance skills, empathy, and in general all things to do with fitness and nutrition.
In school, my forté was writing - be it in the form of a blog, research paper, journalism article, policy proposal, or even a poem. I even turned my love of poetry into a career as a musician! My stage name is JackyBoyD and I'm a singer/rapper. Musical like songwriting and hosting and crowd control are a couple of skills I've picked up along the way :)
Other skills include landscaping, gardening, cooking, sports, and speaking french. I'm extremely enthusiastic, high-energy, positive, self-motivated, love working with others, and I see every problem as a fun challenge.Age
