I am currently in Taipei, Taiwan where I am studying Mandarin. I am passionate about travel and languages. I will be back in Paris at the start of June where I reside with my parents.

  • Description

Hello, I am a student in International Relations at the London School of Economics and an aspiring diplomat. I reside with my parents in Paris, but I was born and raised in Kensington and Chelsea. I have travelled far across the world, and I am currently back from a year-long language trip to Taiwan, where I learned Mandarin and hiked the highest mountain on the island.

I love overcoming challenges and exploring new opportunities, physical or mental. My hobbies include surfing, languages, hiking, and caring for animals. Last summer, I worked in Whitehall as an intern in the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs on animal health policy. Before that, I spent weeks reading up on veterinary science at the Royal Veterinary College. I am looking to get out of London and get to know other parts of Britain better before I start a career as a Civil Servant.

I have British citizenship and can remain in the UK as long as I want. I am looking for opportunities around 1 month long and can leave anytime I want to return to my home in Paris.

More details about my language interests
I am deeply interested in the study and the teaching of languages. I grew up in the UK in a bilingual household with two French parents. As a result, I developed a love for languages very early on and was studying Spanish by the time I was a teenager. Seeking a more complex challenge, I have been learning Mandarin at university, including during a year abroad in Taiwan. I believe languages are the key to understanding cultures and their people. To learn a language is not only to broaden one's horizons and maintain an open mind but also a mental challenge which I enjoy immensely.

  • More details about your skills

I am physically strong and practice strength training every day. I was also a competitive athlete, as a swimmer in secondary school and a middle-distance runner at university. I am, therefore, capable of complicated long-term efforts, such as hiking up very tall mountains like Taiwan's Yu-Shan.

I speak four languages: English, French, Spanish and Mandarin. I work great in a team as I participated actively in student clubs and organisations throughout my studies. Many of which I assumed leadership roles in. I specialised in studying intercultural communication and management at university, where I learned how to handle and work with teams of people from many different cultures.

I am a passionate and upbeat individual. My keenness to help others and be a team player was highlighted by my superiors when I worked at the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs.
