Description
Hi! My name is Anne (though I was brought up being called Anna), and I am currently traveling in Guatemala/Belize. The prompt I am answering asks about what motivates me and brings me happiness, which is funny, as I would say that it is happiness that motivates me. And for me, happiness looks like doing things you believe in, spending time with friends and family, traveling the world, and learning. Belize has been a fantastic country to learn about, and I love the culture and people. Guatemala has also been beautiful, and has allowed me to improve my Spanish.
A little more about who I am: I was born in Kenya, and grew up in Malawi. When I was 9, we moved to the Netherlands, and when I was 16 I went back with my mum. I finished my IGCSEs there and returned to the netherlands to study International Studies, specializing in Latin America. I love traveling and learning about different people and cultures, and have been lucky enough to see so much of the world already. Back home, rugby used to be a big part of my life. However, after feeling the effects of a concussion for over 5 months, I decided to quit. This last month I have been improving a lot, and I think working outside or being creative will be very good for me!
I am a very flexible and open person, I enjoy reading and hiking, and above all I love being in nature.

I have done different types of volunteering before in France and Germany, mainly gardening and building. I am not a skilled builder, but I listen very well and I work hard when given a project. I can cook, clean, paint, work in the garden or try any new task you may have for me. I would love to be creative again, as I haven’t been very creative since graduating from my IGCSEs.
