Ireland - from Jul 2023 until Jul 2024 View allDescription
Hi, I love travelling and experiencing new things, which is why I decided to join Workaway. Hiking in beautiful landscapes, being outdoors and diving into a new culture are some things I really look forward to.
I enjoy learning new things, be it a craft, a new language or a recipe, I am always motivated to try. Reading and being creative are some other activities I enjoy.
Always having an open mind is one of my biggest values, because I believe you can learn most from one another when everyone is respectful, open and excited for new ideas and perspectives.Interests

I would love to learn Irish on my journey, but I am interested in all languages and given the chance, would also like to learn any other languages. Though I have never taught a language, I could try to teach any of the languages I speak to anyone interested, it would be a fun experience.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

As of now I have the irish PPS number.
In the two going on three months I've spent in Ireland I have volunteered on a newly built ponyfarm which included light building jobs, general cleanup, garden work and forest work.
I also wokred at the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival in a hotel with bar and restaurant.
For almost three months I aupaired for a family with an eight year-old daughter, after which I spent three weeks in Dublin looking after four children from age five to ten.
I've just graduated from my German equivalent of a high school, having achieved an average of 1,3 overal; which equals an A or A-. Learning languages is something I particularly enjoy and I learned three foreign languages in school. Counting my native language German, I now speak four languages, including English, Spanish and Swedish. For English I have done the TOEFL test and have achieved the C1 level.
With Swedish and Spanish I am on an intermediate level.
I grew up on a farm and have helped out there a lot. I know a few things about e.g. gardening, chopping wood, making hay and working with cats and (very shy) sheep. Working as a team makes everything more fun. My brothers and I built a small shed for the sheep one summer when the old one collapsed. We also raised and tended to just about a month old kittens after their mother abandoned them, which included supervising their eating and drinking, cleaning them, making sure they stay healthy and providing comfort and games for them. They all grew up nicely and are now very attached to us.Age

What else ...
I practiced Taekwondo every week for about four years now and am interested in martial arts. I also love music, though my taste constantly differs. Discovering new music is therefore always interesting.
