Hi! I’m Aliza and I live in London. I’m currently on a gap year before I start my geography degree at LSE. I’m really looking forward to experiencing different lifestyles whilst travelling and making meaningful connections with my hosts. I’m especially interested in sustainability and making a positive change in the world. For example, I enjoyed designing a project for the Young Social Enterprise competition to tackle rural poverty in Ghana. I’m enthusiastic and caring, always willing to go the extra mile to help. My volunteering experiences include working with nursery children, tutoring kids from disadvantaged backgrounds, being a youth leader and packing food for a food bank. I love being in nature and I enjoy hiking, yoga and dance.

Childcare: I love kids and have babysat a lot (including dealing with crying babies and up to 6 kids), helped special needs kids with their homework, led a summer day camp

Languages: I am bilingual English /German, intermediate French and love to learn new languages

Household help: I like to organise thing in the house and keep things clean

Physical work: i like to be hands on, don't mind messy or hard work and have painted our ceiling

I like to cook and experiment with different ingredients and cuisines

Teaching dance and gynamstics: I taught a weekly class to a group of children of different ages

Tutoring: I've tutored Geography, English and Maths

Good with elderly people: spending time with my grandma with dementia taught me how to bring joy into her life and find creative ways to communicate.
