  • Description

    My name is Alexis, I'm 24 years old and I'm from Marseille in the south of France.

    After graduating with a Master's degree and thus bringing my student life to a close, I decided to embark on a one-year road trip project. To do this, I chose to cross the entire American continent from north to south, from west to west. My journey begins in Alaska and ends a year later in Patagonia.

    My objectives are to discover new cultures and new ways of life, while managing to adapt to diverse and varied environments. This trip will take me to the following countries: United States (Alaska and West Coast), Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

    With a Master's degree in Management of Ecological Transition and Circular Economy, I'm keen to learn with you about more sustainable living practices, to be immersed in your daily life and your issues, and to contribute to your various activities. One of my goals with this trip is to meet people who are taking action for a more sustainable way of life. My plan is to produce a travel diary with short interviews in which I talk to inspiring people about their lifestyles, their perceptions of ecology, the methods they have deployed, as well as the obstacles they encounter on a daily basis.

    A few words about me: I'm a very open-minded person, curious to learn more, interested in the people around me and who like to share moments in life. Passionate about adventure, ecology, nature, animals, sports, music and cinema, I also enjoy discovering my interlocutors' passions and helping them discover my own.

    Socially at ease, it would be a joy for me to meet you and share a chapter of my adventure with you :)

  • More details about your skills

    After obtaining my baccalauréat technologique in Sciences et Technologies du Management et de la Gestion specializing in Marketing, I decided to go to business school. To do so, I moved to Montpellier (South of France) to complete my studies. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Development.
    During these 3 years, I opted for a diversified career path:
    - My first year was spent entirely in the classroom;
    - In my second year, I chose to go on an adventure. I did a university exchange where I studied the first semester in Beijing (China) and the second semester in Barcelona (Spain);
    - In my third year, I did a work-study program, i.e. half-course/half-company, in a commercial vehicle/tourist rental agency.

    As my experience in China had left a deep impression on me, I wanted to take a course offering a different approach for the rest of my studies. Wanting to become a player in making the world a better place, I enrolled in a Master's degree in Management of Ecological Transition and Circular Economy at the University of Montpellier. I graduated with honors in July 2023. I did my Master's entirely under a work-study program with a cleaning company.

    As far as my skills are concerned, I've been able to acquire many thanks to various professional and community experiences.
    I worked for a year at the Burger King fast-food chain, in parallel with my studies, to finance my accommodation and my studies. This experience enabled me to develop my ability to work as part of a team, to be confronted with a hectic pace of work, to develop my sense of improvisation and above all to reconcile my studies during the day with my work in the evenings and at weekends.
    I then spent the last 3 years of my studies on a sandwich course:
    - 2 years in a rental agency as a multi-skilled counter agent, but also as a project manager. This two-year experience enabled me to understand how to develop a human-sized company (there were 4 of us when I arrived and 8 when I left), analyze the needs of my contacts, development strategy, argumentation, but also how to repair a vehicle, change a wheel on a truck, check the levels of a vehicle, etc...
    - 1 year in a cleaning company as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project Manager. It's a company with a mission (the equivalent of a "Benefit Corporation"), so I was able to acquire skills such as carrying out a Bilan Carbone, setting up a reduction action plan, developing environmental awareness workshops, etc... What I liked most about this experience was that I was able to put into practice a lot of the theoretical lessons I had learned.

    Finally, I'd say that I'm a resourceful, manual and proactive person who appreciates a job well done.

  • What else ...

    I'm very passionate about soccer (soccer), regularly following the matches of my favorite teams, and I love the unifying and challenging aspect of this particular sport.
    I also enjoy making music, and more specifically, writing and performing songs. Generally speaking, I like art and the fact of being able to create something. I find the creative process super rewarding whatever it is.
    I also enjoy strategy games and even board games in general.
