Hello, I’m Xander!
I recently graduated with honors, and am taking a gap year to travel and immerse myself in diverse cultures and work experiences before I begin my Finance studies at Penn State next fall. I’m excited to learn new skills and explore parts of the U.S. I haven’t seen yet, as well as destinations in Europe and Northern Africa!
I’m a problem solver and a hard worker. I thrive on meeting new people and tend to get along well with all kinds of personalities. I believe that every experience, big or small, has something valuable to teach us, and I’m eager to learn as much as possible during this year.
I’m great with animals and love outdoor adventures, especially hiking in the cold and snow. Invigorated by new experiences, I recently returned from a solo hike on the Appalachian trail. Some of my favorite hobbies include cycling, snowboarding, and cooking—particularly Italian and Hispanic cuisines.
I’m a Colombian-American who grew up in North Carolina and South Florida, USA. I’m fluent in English and have basic conversational skills in Spanish, which I’m keen to improve!
