** We have been in Portugal for a while now, where we will be staying for a longer period of time. For that reason we prefer paid positions **

We are Shana & Jörgen, a warm, mindful, loving and mature couple with a wide range of skills, able to work self-reliant and independently.
We prefer hosts who only want to accommodate two people/couples at a time.

Last few years we lived in the Belgian Ardennes, into nature. During the last 8 years Shana worked here as an independent nature/mindfulness coach - Jörgen sold his business in 2016 and continued his path as a nomad by traveling with backpack and travel bike until 2020 (volunteering in between). From 2020 he used to work as an independent (outdoor) guide for HSP men, ecological/organic building companies and as a gardener in the Netherlands and Belgium.

From our hearts we both felt that it was time for a change, lots of good vibes and inspiration. The perfect moment to discover the world & broaden our vision and horizons together. We are in search of a new way of living for us and finally find the right place for building up our own homestead. Therefore it's our dearest wish to travel the world and adapt to the locals and make ourselves useful to other people and nature, get inspired/learn more about self-sufficient living in nature while contributing with our own creative skills. Our deepest desire is to contribute and give our care to create a better future for all the living on our planet.

We are also passionate about arts & crafts like wood working, hand/basket weaving, painting & embroidery. Both are vegetarians and live a healthy lifestyle (non smokers and non alcoholic) - 100% full of life and connected to nature. We do our best to live as mindful and organic - ecological as possible. Furthermore, we love our walks & hikes in nature, swimming, reading, gardening, cooking, baking bread, making jams etc. … a simple life.

Shana is Belgian and 40 years of age. She loves spending time outside in nature and in the garden, growing vegetables, flowers, herbs & tending to plants and trees in general. She also loves painting, hand weaving and embroidery. Spirituality, yoga, meditation and free writing is part of her daily life.

She's a kind, spirited & warmhearted person who does everything with love and care. Her dream is to live an even more simple life in nature dividing her time between gardening/being outside and being creative.

Shana likes to help you with regenerative agriculture, permaculture, biodynamics, vegetable/herb/flower & fruit gardens, general gardening & plant and tree care, fermentation, willow weaving, fedging, creative/art projects, all-round tasks in the house, farm work, cooking etc.

Jörgen is originally from the Netherlands (feels himself a world citizen), 52 years of age and still young, fit and loves the outdoors/nature. He likes to think of himself as a sociable, fun, positive minded, warmhearted, easy going person with a wide range of experience and knowledge in many areas.

He lives a holistic lifestyle, loves the outdoors, gardening and natural building in general. He also likes to be creative, has attention to detail, loves (textile) art & handicraft like japanese crafts, woodwork, basket weaving, hand weaving, natural dyeing, sashiko, practicing yoga, mindfulness, (zen) meditation.

Jörgen likes to help you with hedgelaying, fedging, stonewalling, landscaping, regenerative agriculture, farm work, biodynamics, permaculture, cutting branches/hedge/trees, chopping wood, DIY - helping around the house - ''light'' construction work, repairs, woodwork, general maintenance, clay/cob building/plastering/wattle & daub, sanding, painting, creative/art projects, cooking etc.

We travel with our own car, so we can visit our hosts independently...

We are looking for hosts who like to welcome a couple for several weeks/months. We prefer hosts who live quite remote, self-sufficient, surrounded by nature and can only host two volunteers at a time.
