Description
We are a family composed by two adults Francesca and Riccardo, and two children, Aradia nearly six and Athos a newborn baby.
We are living in a small old village in the middle of the forest in the natural park of Acquacheta on the Appennini's mountains situated in the center of Italy.
This reality was born in the seventies as a community project and it was about a natural life style and self-suffieciency.
Nowadays we keep going on with the basic ideas of the project of sustainability, self-production, ecology, hospitality and responsability about living together. We still dream to built a community ecovillage but in this moment we are living here as a family with few neighbours that help us if necessary.
We spend ours days taking care of animals (chickens, donkey and mule), farming, picking wild herbs, food processing and renovating the houses of the village.
To reach us there are buses from Forlì or Florence to the nearest village (San Benedetto in Alpe), but Forlì is better served. From San Benedetto there are two ways to reach us: by foot with a nice trek of 6 km in the forest or by car with a 6km dirt road that takes 10 minutes to the houses accessible just by residents.
The village is 15 minutes by foot from the Acquacheta waterfalls and there are lots of nice treks all around.
Where we live is an historical complex that we are slowly fixing so there are several rooms that are still unusable.
We don't have a proper toilet so we arrange with creativity in the nature, but we have a project to built a compost toilet as soon as possible. There is already a shower with hot water. Not all the room have electricity. Internet connection is only at some places and is not very stable.Types of help and learning opportunities
