Description
Hi, we are a group of 5 Indonesian in their twenties and we have created a project in our village, Kasintuwu, mangkutana sub_distric ,east luwu distric, to teach English for free to the children and local people.
Today we have 5 classrooms in elementary scholl for kids between 7 and 11 and approximately 50 children participate. We are working on increasing the number of students and want to teach to adults in the future.
We are also creating a new English center to host English camps, where people can stay for several days and be completely immersed in English language to learn faster. This center will be built next to the Ue Lanti river, a wonderful natural place, where people can enjoy the nature. We will build a garden to also teach about organic and sustainable farming. We hope to have this center ready for operation in the next few months.
We would like you to come and help us teach English to the children, help us (the teachers) to perfect our conversational skills. If you have any additional skill (arts, handicrafts, organic farming, etc.) you are more than welcome to share it during your classes.
You can also work in our gardens. We grow a lot of vegetables, fruits, pepper, palm sugar, cocoa, etc. You will be able to make your own chocolate from scratch!!
During the rest of the day you can enjoy a quiet life in the village, go swimming in the Ue Lanti river or meet many locals.
Kasintuwu is a very authentic village in a part of Sulawesi that doesn’t see many tourists so you will have the most genuine experience of Indonesian life with us. Our community will welcome you warmly and you will probably have the opportunity to assist to local events (weddings, local dancing, cultural ceremonies, harvest party, etc.)
We look forward to reading you and meeting you in our village!
PS: We have written this ad with the help of 2 volunteers to ensure the best comprehension of our project.
