    Description

The Farm was once the original school house of Jughaani.
We are Chris and Gabriella from the U.K. We left the U.K. 8 years ago by our bicycles and spent our time cycling across the world, that's how we first discovered the country Georgia. After visiting the country a few times over the years we then came across an old school house that had been abandoned for many years in the Kakheti region of Georgia, we love this area so much we decided to buy the school and the land around it and make it our base.
We bought the school two years ago and are currently renovating the school, the old ruins and rebuilding the original stone walls that surrounds our land by ourselves. There is 6000 square meters of land with hundreds of amazing trees with lots of wild life living in and amongst the trees. Our village is a very traditional Georgian settlement we're all the locals are shepherds and live from their land. So each day we have many cattle coming buy to graze on the grass lands around. Our Farm is amongst many vineyards so if you are a wine lover Kakheti is the place to be.

At the farm we now have six goats , many chickens and seven rescue dogs of Georgia and our very own travelling Jack Russel dog Comet. Our dogs we rescued were all found badly injured and starving we were able to get them the medical attention they needed and to give them a safe and loving home here. We set up Animal Support, we try our very best to go out and feed the many street dogs in our area as we cannot take them all in unfortunately.
    Our location
Jughaani is located in the Kakheti region. Kakheti is a beautiful wine producing region. It has more vineyards and wineries than the rest of Georgia. It is a land of wine, green valleys surrounded by mountains. There are so many traditional things to experience in this area. Jughaani is 25km from the city Telavi which is set in the foothills of the Gombori Mountains. Telavi is the biggest city and main hub in Eastern Kakheti region.
Situated in the North of Georgia at an elevation of 442m, our farm is on the main tourist route of the Kakheti Wine Region and is also at the foothills of the Tusheti National Park, and the UNESCO Protected Biosphere Reserve “The Three Alazani Rivers Biosphere Reserve” Pankisi Valley.
For all you adventurers out there who love to travel off the beaten path, our farm is only 5 minutes away from the world famous Abano Pass which is the only route to Omalo Tusheti, the Abano Pass is in the top 10 most dangerous roads in the world!
This is Chris's favourite mountain pass he goes up to Tusheti a few times a year on his motorbike , which is some experience.

We have a good network of expats from all over the world living in and around Telavi so we have lots of social meet ups.
The farm is also a campsite so you get to meet many traveler's from around the world with interesting stories to tell.

In our region as it is the heart of the wine making there are many wineries. When it is harvest time there are many wine festivals that take place in many villages and cities. The Georgians like to celebrate so you will experience many traditional Supra. A Supra is a traditional Georgian feast and a part of Georgian culture.
You can go up to Tusheti experience the Abano pass and see the true traditional village of Omalo, Shenako and Dartmouth where you can ride horses with the local shepherds.
There is so much to experience in the area with the many surrounding national parks and lakes.

  • Help

    Help

We are wanting help rebuilding the original stone wall at the front of the house. Sometimes you will be working on your own but other times if required you will have me Gabriella to help as I am a professional now at cement mixing ...
The kind of help we are looking for is:
    1. Someone who has experience in the building/ construction trade.
    2. Be able to use a cement mixer.
    3. Not shy of hard labour and getting their hands dirty.
    4. Common sense: if you haven't literally built a stone wall before Chris will give you a lesson and show you what to do.
    5. Ideally be willing to stay here for minimum two weeks.
Chris had his own construction company back in the U.K. and is a highly skilled carpenter and is now currently renovated both the small properties on our land so he has lots of knowledge to pass on and would enjoy some skilled people to give him a hand.
Our second help that we require:
We are looking for someone who would like to live free at our property for around six months or longer this is to enable me Gabriella to go off with Chris for a few months travelling. This is not possible for me now as I need some one to be here to look after the dogs, goats and chickens. I am flexible with the date can even be next year. I also have no set schedule, I may go for one month come back for a month then go again but still need that someone to stay for the six months or longer.
If you are interested message me and we can discuss the details and my proposal in more detail.
