    Description

    Hi there!

We live in a lovely old farmhouse built in 1850, together with our chickens, geese, and four cats. Life here is very rural and close to nature. We’d be happy to have you join us and experience it with us.

We’re excited to host Workawayers who would like to stay between 1 and 3 weeks. Ideally, we host people over 30 years old.

As a Workawayer at our house, you become part of daily life and help with ongoing tasks around the house, garden, and animals. Some tasks are carried out independently, so it’s important that you enjoy taking responsibility and working on your own — but don’t worry, we’re always nearby if you need guidance or support.

We enjoy sharing meals, conversations, and activities together, but we also value a relaxed balance where everyone has their own space.

If you’re interested, we’re happy to show you some truly beautiful places in the area, away from tourist crowds.

We host one Workawayer or a couple in a cozy, comfortable room with a private bathroom.

    Regards

    Astrid & Jörg

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us gives you the chance to experience what it’s like to live a modern life in a historic farmhouse. You’ll see how tradition and modernity can perfectly complement each other and gain insight into how we manage the place in a contemporary way.

You can learn about modern flower cultivation, direct marketing, gardening, and preserving seasonal produce. Through daily life, shared meals, and conversations, you’ll also get a deeper understanding of local customs and ways of living, making this a true cultural exchange. We’ll also spoil you with homemade local specialties, so you can enjoy authentic flavors from our region.

We have a lovely little tradition here: we invite our Workawayers to prepare a typical dish from their home country for us. We love discovering new flavors, sharing stories over the meal, and learning about different cultures through food. It would be wonderful if you could bring a taste of your home to share with us!

  • Help

    Help

The tasks you might help with are the ones I usually handle myself throughout the year, and where an extra pair of hands is welcome. This includes mowing the lawn, haying, cleaning the hen house, feeding the animals, weeding, planting, general gardening, harvesting and preserving, or other tasks that may come up.
You’ll be part of the daily rhythm here, contributing to the work while sharing the experience with us.

    Accommodation

We offer a bright and cozy private room with a comfortable Queen-size bed (1.40 m) and a private bathroom. You’re welcome to prepare your own breakfast and snacks whenever you like. We usually cook one shared meal per day, sometimes two. This way, you can help yourself whenever you’re hungry, while we still have a chance to enjoy a meal together.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We live a relaxed and friendly lifestyle: we eat meat in moderation, and everything we consume is organic and carefully sourced. Vegetarians are very welcome, and vegans are also welcome if you prepare your own meals. Smoking is only allowed outside, and we have four cats, so allergy to cats would make it difficult to stay with us. We love our furry friends and hope you do too!
