  Hello! I (a young-at-heart grandmother in her 60s) live in a mixed chestnut forest in the Alta Langhe/Piedmont/Italy. It used to be an organic, goat, bee, self-sufficient farm with family, children and helpers...now the children have flown away, grandchildren have been born and the majority have been sold. I kept two rusticos, chestnut houses, a shelter (workshop) and two hectares of land and am now in the process of making it a beautiful place for visitors, friends and family. There is still a lot to be done in one of the houses to make it comfortable to live in (the former stable should be turned into a kitchen, the earth/stone floor should be removed, and a bathroom/toilet is planned in the cellar next door). There are also various projects in the country, such as creating a new place for the garden, planting flowers, finishing the chicken yard, swimming pond, cleaning up wood, creating stone walls, etc...!
  
  At the moment I live here alone with three cats as pets, in close proximity to foxes, wild boars, deer, badgers, lizards, scorpions (small, harmless ones), blackbirds, magpies and other wonderful songbirds, butterflies... an incredible variety in spring Flora and fauna……and lots and lots of silence apart from the sounds of animals and the wind as it roams through the branches of the trees. I love immersing myself in meditations - especially in the morning - which I also like to share with visitors. A healthy diet with lots of vegetables (organic if possible) is very important to me (not fixed and flexible regarding vegetarian, vegan).
  
  There is far too much to do for me alone at the moment! I look forward to your help and company. I would be happy to share one warm meal a day with you. I am happy to pass on my many years of experience (since 1982) in the “dropout life” of living as “simply” as possible and using as little energy and resources as possible. I'm originally from Austria (VLBG), I was also in Switzerland for a long time and have been here in Gorzegno/CN since 1989.
  
  
  Hallo!
  Ich (jung gebliebene Grossmutter in den 60 gern) lebe in einem MischKastanienWald in der Alta Langhe/ Piemont/ Italien. Früher mit Familie, Kindern, Helfern ein BioZiegenBienenSelbstversorgerhof ….inzwischen, sind die Kinder ausgeflogen, Enkel geboren und der Grossteil verkauft.
  Zwei Rusticos, Kastanienhäuschen, Unterstand(Werkstatt) und zwei ha Land habe ich behalten und bin dabei jetzt daraus einen schönen Platz zu gestalten für Besucher, Freunde, Familie. In einem der Häuser gibt es noch viel zu tun, um es gut bewohnbar zu machen ( aus dem ehemaligen Stall soll eine Küche werden, Erd/Steinboden sollte abgetragen werden, und im Keller nebenan ist ein Badezimmer/Toilette geplant). Auch auf dem Land gibt es verschiedene Projekte, wie einen neuen Platz für Garten anlegen, Blumen pflanzen, Hühnerhof fertigstellen, Badeteich, Holzaufräumarbeiten, Steinmäuerchen anlegen etc…!
  Momentan lebe ich allein hier mit drei Katzen als Haustieren, in nächster Nähe mit Fuchs, Wildschweinen, Rehen, Dachs, Eidechsen, Skorpionen (kleine, ungefährliche), Amseln, Elstern und anderen wunderbaren Singvögeln, Schmetterlingen ….. im Frühling eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an Flora und Fauna …… und viel, viel Stille abgesehen von den Tierlauten und dem Wind, wenn er durch das Geäst der Bäume streift.
  Ich liebe es - vor allem morgens- in Meditationen einzutauchen, die ich auch gerne mit Besuchern teile. Gesunde Ernährung mit viel Gemüse (wenn möglich bio) ist mir sehr wichtig (nicht fixiert und flexibel bzgl. Vegetarisch, Vegan).
  Im Moment gibt es viel zu viel für mich alleine zu tun! Freue mich pber Mithilfe und Gesellschaft.
  Gerne teile ich eine warme Mahlzeit pro Tag mit Dir/Euch.
  Meine langjährige Erfahrung (seit 1982) im „Aussteigerleben“ mit möglichst „einfach leben“, wenig Energie und Ressourcen verbrauchen, gebe ich gerne weiter.
  Ich komme ursprünglich aus Österreich (VLBG), war längere Zeit auch in der Schweiz und seit 1989 hier in Gorzegno/CN.

  You can learn new/old knowledge about nature and simple construction and farm tasks. I maintain social contacts in the remote rural area with the Italian population but also with the many “immigrants” from German-speaking areas. You are welcome to take part or get to know Italian culture yourself at the weekly markets and in the bars in the small villages in the area. A car is very advantageous.
  
  
  Du kannst neues/altes Wissen um die Natur und einfache Bau und Landarbeiten kennenlernen.
  Ich pflege soziale Kontakte in der abgelegenen ländlichen Umgebung mit der italienischen Bevölkerung aber auch mit den vielen „Einwanderern“ aus deutschsprachigen Gebieten.
  Du kannst gerne daran teilhaben oder selbst die italienische Kultur auf den Wochenmärkten und in den Bars der kleinen Dörfer in der Umgebung kennenlernen.
  Ein Auto ist sehr von Vorteil.

  Enjoyment of concrete physical activity and tasks, together and alone.
  Times of rest, relaxation, being alone, silence are important to me... We can plan together.
  It's just about help in the private sector on house, workshops, and in the countryside, stone steps, walls, vegetable gardens, preparing wood, in the forest.

  Accommodation

  I can provide you with a bed in a room that can be heated with wood, or even a place for a tent. Toilets are currently only available outdoors (composting toilet). There is a shared shower with hot water. Community kitchen. At least one meal together a day.
  
  
  Ich kann Dir/Euch ein Bett in einem mit Holz heizbaren Raum zur Verfügung stellen, oder auch einen Platz für ein Zelt.
  Toiletten gibt es bis jetzt nur im Freien (Komposttoilet). Eine gemeinsame Dusche mit Warmwasser vorhanden.
  Gemeinschaftsküche. Mindestens eine gemeinsame Mahlzeit am Tage.

  Car is an advantage but not necessarily the norm (public transport 4km away, train 30 minutes away by car, you can be picked up). Approximately four hours of help per day (or 24 hours per week) for room and board. Help or take turns cooking and doing housework. Stay time at least one week.
  
  
  Auto von Vorteil aber nicht unbedingt norwendig (ÖV in 4km Entfernung, Zug 30 Autominuten entfernt, Du kannst abgeholt werden).
  Ca. vier Stunden Mithilfe pro Tag (oder 24 Stunden pro Woche) für Kost und Logie. Mithilfe, bzw. Abwechseln beim Kochen und Hausarbeiten.
  Aufenthaltszeit mindestens eine Woche.
