LOOKING FOR WORKAWAYER TO START ASAP !
Hello we are a busy family of 6 currently living in a rambling old manor house on a small estate on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. We have our own private woods with plenty of wildlife including red squirrels and hares, and are close to endless beaches (plenty of surfing , windsurfing and kite surfing if that is your thing) and the Snowdonia mountain range. Tom and Daisy both work from home. Our children are age 9, 6, 4 & 2 (2 boys, 2 girls) and love to play in the woods and at the beach. Holyhead is about a 15 minute drive away (there is a bus stop nearby with direct buses) where you can get ferry to Dublin (Ireland) and trains to London and Manchester. Please note we are in a rural location so a driver with own car would be a bonus ! This would also suit someone working on their own project eg. writing, art etc as there is plenty of space, peace and quiet and natural surroundings for inspiration and contemplation.
We are mainly looking for general help with family life help and around the house with housework, decluttering & laundry.
**Given our location and the variety of jobs on offer we would welcome a couple / 2 friends but single travellers are also welcome **

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Anglesey has plenty to offer somebody who has a love of the great outdoors and coastal living. There is plenty of sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sea kayaking & coasteering nearby. There are coastal walks and an abundance of wildlife including seals and rare birds to be seen. We live walking distance to a bus stop in the village of Llanddeusant which is on 3 different bus routes, and you will have access to a bicycle. Holyhead is a 15 minutes drive (or bus ride) away and has direct trains to London in just over 3 hours, plus Manchester, Chester and Liverpool. The train also stops across the island at surf beaches such as Rhosneigr, and Bangor which is the closest busier university town. From Holyhead you can also hop on the ferry direct to Dublin to experience all the delights Ireland has to offer.
Welsh is very widely spoken on Anglesey, and the primary language spoken by many, so there is ample opportunity to learn the language, as well as English.
Anglesey also draws many artists and photographers due to the wild seas and landscape, so lots of natural inspiration if this is what you are seeking.
FOR ANYONE WORKING ON AN ARTIST/WRITING PROJECT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ENVIRONMENT FOR THIS AND THERE IS IS PLENTY OF SPACE AND PEACE AND NATURE TO BE INSPIRED BY.
Au Pair Help
This host has let us know they’ll be complying with UK regulations for au pair stays.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Primarily we need help around the house with general tidying, laundry, clearing, organising & decluttering. Cooking also if this is of interest. We also need help with babysitting (mostly our 2 year old when he is at home and I am busy with the bigger kids)- we can pay pocket money for this.
Accommodation is flexible depending on needs, but primarily we have a twin bed room set up for a single traveller, or a couple/friends who would like to share a room. You will have your own bathroom to use, plus internet and plenty of space to escape what can be a rather noisy household (!!) for some peace and quiet. There is an extra bedroom and bunk room available if you are travelling as a small group of friends. The house is in a rural setting so when the sky is clear the the stars are magnificent and the only noise you have at night is the wind through the trees and the owls hooting. We are walking distance to Llynon Mill, a windmill which serves gourmet cakes and teas, plus a longer walk/ bike ride away from the Black Lion cafe & gift shop which serves delicious food & coffees and sells locally made gifts.
What else ...
In addition to what we have mentioned above, Holyhead has a leisure centre, cinema and also the Ucheldre centre which is an arts and cultural centre which offers live theatre and runs many different workshops and classes such as painting, mindfulness and singing. In addition to all the water sports mentioned, there are plenty of swim- friendly beaches. Zip world in Snowdonia (the longest zip wire in europe) is very popular, as is the artificial surf park for getting some practise waves in ; )
