Hi, I'm Laura! I live in Italy, in Imperia, a relatively small but beautiful city thanks to the presence of the sea and the inland landscapes. I am the mother of two girls, Yara (14 years old) and Emma (9 years old), who deeply love the sea and days spent on SUP (stand up paddle board) at the beach. We would like an au pair who is ready to learn Italian and who is eager to interact in English with our daughters, especially with the eldest, Yara, who convinced me to become a host. Yara has a B1 level of English and like the rest of the family, she speaks fluent Italian. In the summer, the girls stay with their grandmother who lives with us, on the ground floor. I have a large house and several animals that I can't always take care of. I have two dogs, one large and one small, a cat, chickens and geese. I have a large garden that is just waiting for someone who wants to take care of it; there are many fruit trees and a vegetable garden with aromatic plants. My husband and I work every day except Saturday and Sunday, which we usually spend taking care of the house and the girls. However, we have dinner and lunch with the family every day. We are open to meeting new people and spreading our culture!
Ciao, sono Laura! Vivo in Italia, a Imperia, una città relativamente piccola ma bellissima grazie alla presenza del mare e dei paesaggi dell'entroterra. Sono mamma di due bambine, Yara (14 anni) ed Emma (9 anni), che amano profondamente il mare e le giornate in sup ( stand up paddle board) alla spiaggia. Vorremmo una ragazza alla pari che sia pronta ad imparare l'italiano e che non veda l'ora di interagire in inglese con le nostre figlie, in particolare con la più grande, Yara, che mi ha convinto a diventare un host. Yara ha un livello B1 di inglese e come tutta la famiglia parla fluentemente italiano. Le bambine d'estate stanno dalla nonna che abita con noi, al piano terra. Ho una casa grande e diversi animali di cui non riesco sempre a prendermi cura. Ho due cani, uno di taglia grande e uno di taglia piccola, un gatto, galline ed oche. Ho un giardino grande che aspetta solo qualcuno che abbia voglia di prendersene cura; ci sono numerose piante da frutto e un orto con piante aromatiche.
Io e mio marito lavoriamo tutti i giorni, tranne sabato e domenica, che di solito passiamo a prenderci cura della casa e delle bambine. Però ceniamo e pranziamo insieme alla famiglia tutti i giorni.
Siamo aperti a fare nuove conoscenze e a diffondere la nostra cultura!

I hope that the girls can practice English and that by being together, being native Italian speakers, they can teach the workawayer a bit of Italian language and culture. Our guests could also, if they want, spend an afternoon (maybe with family members as guides) discovering our small tourist town, crowded with tourists of different nationalities in the summer. I hope you are ready to spend afternoons on the beach paddling on the sup boards, so loved by my daughters.
Spero che le bambine possano praticare l'inglese e che stando insieme ,essendo di madrelingua italiana, possano insegnare al/alla workawayer un po' di lingua e cultura italiana. I nostri ospiti potrebbero anche, se vogliono, passare un pomeriggio (magari con i membri della famiglia a fargli da guida) alla scoperta della nostra piccola città turistica, d'estate affollata da turisti di diverse nazionalità. Spero che siate pronti a passare pomeriggi in spiaggia a pagaiare sulle tavole da sup, tanto adorate delle mie figlie.
Help
I am looking for someone who really likes animals, who is willing to respect their needs and who also wants to interact often with the girls. The eldest wants someone to practice English with, to teach a little Italian to and maybe someone to play volleyball with 🏐. The youngest wants someone who wants to play with her every now and then. The main jobs are: entertaining the girls (without having to supervise them, without any responsibility since they are always under the watchful eye of their grandmother) and taking care of the animals which, although not numerous, also require attention.
Cerco qualcuno a cui piacciano molto gli animali, che sia pronto a rispettare le loro esigenze e che abbia voglia anche di interagire spesso con le bambine. La più grande desidera qualcuno con cui praticare l'inglese, a cui insegnare un po' di italiano e magari una persona con cui giocare a pallavolo 🏐. La più piccola invece desidera qualcuno che abbia voglia di giocare con lei ogni tanto. I lavori principali sono quelli: far divertire le bambine (senza doverle supervisionare, senza alcuna responsabilità dato che sono sempre sotto l'occhio attento della loro nonna) e prendersi cura degli animali che, seppur non numerosi, richiedono anche loro delle attenzioni.

Mia figlia maggiore (livello di inglese B1, con attestato dell'università di Cambridge) vorrebbe qualcuno con cui praticare la sue seconda lingua, l'inglese. Siamo pronti a insegnare l'italiano cercando di essere il più chiari possibile.

My house is divided into two floors: the lower one where my mother, the girls' grandmother, lives, and the first floor, where my husband, the girls and I live. We are ready to vacate and offer my youngest daughter's bedroom. It has a single bed, television and a balcony, but no wardrobe. The house has Wi-Fi and a swimming pool, where the girls spend most of their days.
Casa mia è suddivisa in due piani: quello inferiore dove abita mia mamma, la nonna delle bambine, e il primo piano, dove abitiamo io, le bambine e mio marito. Siamo pronti a liberare e offrire la camera da letto di mia figlia minore. Offre un letto singolo, televisione e balcone, ma non un armadio. La casa è dotata di Wi-fi e piscina, dove le bambine passano la maggior parte delle giornate.

The house rules are few and simple: - you take off your shoes before entering, so as to avoid having to constantly clean the floors; - you don't eat on the bed, we have a table in the kitchen and that's exactly what it's for; - lunch and dinner times must be respected, so as to avoid food getting cold - disrespect towards adults is not tolerated (girls often play pranks on each other but parents do not tolerate disrespect towards them) - when you have time you must try to help grandma with simple gestures, such as setting or clearing the table - do not leave waste paper around, throw it in the waste bin - do not leave clothes around the house - if you are not present or are late for lunch or dinner please let us know to avoid food waste Among the activities you can do are long afternoons on the beach, visit the city, take a walk inland, discover more famous and fairly close cities such as Genoa or Savona (you can get there by flixbus or train in a short time) or Sanremo (you can easily get there by bus).
Le regole della casa sono poche e semplici:
- ci si toglie le scarpe prima di entrare, in modo tale da evitare di dover continuamente pulire i pavimenti;
- non si mangia sul letto, abbiamo un tavolo in cucina e serve proprio a quello;
- bisogna rispettare gli orari di pranzo e cena, in modo tale da evitare che il cibo si raffreddi
- non sono tollerate le mancanze di rispetto nel confronto degli adulti ( le bambine so fanno spesso i dispetto tra di loro ma i genitori non tollerano le mancanze di rispetto nei loro confronti)
- quando si ha tempo bisogna cercare di aiutare la nonna con gesti semplici, come apparecchiare o sparecchiare la tavola
- non si lasciano cartacce in giro, si buttano nel cestino dei rifiuti
- non si lasciano i vestiti in giro per casa
- se non si è presenti o si è in ritardo a pranzo o a cena si è pregati di avvisare per evitare sprechi di cibo
Tra le attività che che potrete fare ci sono lunghi pomeriggi in spiaggia, visitare la città, fare una camminata nell'entroterra, scoprire città più famose e abbastanza vicine quali Genova o Savona ( ci si può arrivare in flixbus o in treno in poco tempo) oppure Sanremo ( ci si può facilmente arrivare in pullman).
