Previous Workaway experience:

May - June 2015: Working for a husky dog sled company in the town of Jokkmokk, Swedish Lapland in the Artic Circle.
July - August 2015: Working on a sustainable agricultural land project in Bali, Indonesia.
July - August 2016: Horse farm in Sauðárkrókur, North Iceland.
July 2018: Renovating a house in Bodø, North Norway.

Hi there! I originally joined Workaway in 2015 and have not looked back since. Some of my best travelling memories and most interesting people I have met have been through Workaway and I hope to make some more. I have re-activated my account recently in 2025 and I am looking for Workaway opportunities in Uruguay while on my Working Holiday Visa, more below....

About me:
I grew up in the UK in the town of Nottingham (yes Robin Hood) and have moved around for studying and family, including 8 years in Amsterdam in the Netherlands after completing a masters degree at the University of Amsterdam in 2016. In November 2023 I became a digital nomad (for about 3 months before I quit that job as travel and work did not work out :D) and travelled LATAM, all the way from Tierra del Fuego in southern Argentina/Chile to Belize in the Caribbean (though skipping a few countries here and there...). I returned to the UK in August 2024 and saw that the UK and Uruguay signed an agreement for a Working Holiday Visa for 18-30 years old and, after turning 30 in September 2024, I thought life is too short so decided to come back to Uruguay to improve my Spanish further (early B1) and continue my travel adventures.

Since the age of 18 I have been travelling to various parts of the world (mainly Europe, LATAM, India, Indonesia) being involved with projects at a local level and I love exchanging stories and cultural exchanges with people who have different perspectives and experiences of life than me. I love the outdoors and consider myself very tidy, respectful of others and organised. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and I consider myself quite physically strong and fit, so I am able to undertake strenuous tasks if needs be. I enjoy it most after a difficult task has been completed, particularly when done in a group, and the satisfaction we all get when a job is finished to a high standard and have a chat over a tea, coffee or, if the work has been really hard, a nice cold beer.

Besides this, my hobbies include: Running, Swimming, Rock Climbing, Hiking, and of course after living in Amsterdam for so long, Cycling. My favourite animal is dogs (the bigger and more energetic the better!) while also enjoying my alone time with a good book on crime fiction, global history and now in order to improve my Spanish, some easy Spanish books of course! I have also completed a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language ) course so I am happy to help with English teaching also.
