Hi there! I’m Jess, and my partner (Mitchell) and I are road tripping across New Zealand! He was born and raised in Hamilton and is looking to explore the country more, and I am originally from the States, though I spent the last 5 years in Toronto.

I love music, drawing/painting, reading, philosophy, and psychology. Mitchell loves technology, cars, gaming, and photography. We both enjoy hiking and being in nature!

Travel, to us, is about expanding perspective, embracing growth, and contributing meaningfully. We are not afraid of hard work and we are detailed oriented, thoughtful, flexible, and put our all into everything we do!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Mitchell is a photographer and IT specialist who is very handy, a master in the kitchen, and enjoys gardening. He is very efficient and does things quickly. I am a creative project manager and I love to clean and organize with a passion! I genuinely have fun organizing and cleaning, and find a lot of satisfaction in tidying spaces.

I spent 3 months at Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia, where I cared for chickens, cooked for the community, and offered my skills in hospitality/housekeeping, gardening, and marketing. Most recently, I spent 10 weeks WWOOFing at Mana in the Coromandel where I gained even more experience in the kitchen, housekeeping, and working with teams. I’ve also house-sat with a rabbit in the Rockies for six weeks, watched after a ragdoll cat for 10 weeks in Hamilton through Trusted Housesitters, and spent 5 weeks in Auckland nannying a 1-year-old.

Professionally, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Media with a minor in Psychology, and years of experience in project management, creative direction, communications, marketing, and operations. Mitchell has previously worked as an IT specialist where he configured and managed complex computer systems for large teams, and now he does photography for various events and companies.

We are both open to learning new skills and have interest in gardening!

Was noch ...

We are big fans of scenic hikes and exploring new places. We are keen to learn how to fish, surf, or really any new skill! I love playing guitar and piano as well so would be excited if there were some instruments around.
