Hello workawayers!

We are so happy to be a part of this group and look forward to connecting with some of you soon.

We are english/italian family,our children Poppy and Leo are 8 and 5. We have just left our comfortable life in the middle of England and started our adventure, travelling and volunteering on sustainable small holdings. We want to explore where and how we can live in harmony with nature and contribute to a sustainable community.

We dream of a natural place our children can grow, away from too many screens and processed food, where homegrown foods, outdoor life and clean water is the norm, and where traditional values still rule.

We love to volunteer with families with children, as they get so much from playing and learning together. We spent 3 months volunteering in this way when the children were younger and we connected with many wonderful families who are still friends today.

We love nature!! We love to feel the earth between our toes, we love climbing trees and swimming in rivers, we love walking in the mountains, woods and meadows. We love to feel a part of the cycles of nature and follow the moon and celebrate her often with a full moon or new moon fire.

Poppy is happy and fun, she loves art, writing, riddles and jokes. Leo is very cheeky and curious and loves finding out how the world around him works. He's a nature enthusiast and loves building things and is especially interested in spiders and insects.

We also love growing, foraging, fermenting, cooking and eating!! We are vegetarian and love to cook and share our food, eating with friends and family is a big part of who we are.

We are naturally hard working, and love shared working, living, laughing and learning with others, which was one of the best parts about our workaway experiences before - watching the children all playing and working together on the land, while we all worked on building or creating a new project. We can both work alone or as part of a group.

We lived off grid before the children in southern Italy in a Trullo (traditional southern Italian stone house) and restored her using lime mortars. We built a solar shower and greywater irrigation system, cared for our trees and grew a huge allotment. It was wonderful and we loved every second but it wasn't the right time or place for us and so we are setting off again looking for an off grid, wild place we can make our family home.

We are so excited to be starting this journey and hope to meet some of you very soon.

Siamo così felici di far parte di workaway! !

Siamo una famiglia inglese / italiana di 4 persone (Poppy 8 e Leo 5)

Stiamo per iniziare un'avventura per i prossimi due anni (forse di più) viaggiando nel nostro camper nel Regno Unito e in Italia. Abbiamo trascorso 3 mesi di volontariato in questo modo quando i bambini erano molto piccoli ed è stata una delle migliori esperienze familiari che abbiamo avuto. In qualche modo abbiamo finito per vivere ai margini di una città e il suo tempo di colpire di nuovo la strada.

Amiamo la natura! ! Amiamo sentire la terra tra le dita dei piedi, amiamo arrampicarci sugli alberi e nuotare nei fiumi, amiamo camminare in montagna, nei boschi e nei prati. Amiamo sentirci parte dei cicli della natura e seguire la luna e celebrarla spesso con una luna piena o un fuoco di luna nuova.

Essere attivi è una grande parte di noi come famiglia, giochiamo rounders o calcio con i nostri amici, ma anche come cose più rilassate come - Qi gong e yoga (franco è un insegnante) e mediazione.

Poppy è felice e divertente, ama l'arte, la scrittura, gli indovinelli e le barzellette. Leo è un birichino e molto curioso e ama scoprire come funziona il mondo che lo circonda. Ama costruire cose (e smontarle), ed è particolarmente interessato a ragni e insetti.

Amiamo anche coltivare (e fermentare), foraggiare, cucinare e mangiare !! Siamo vegetariani e amiamo cucinare e condividere il nostro cibo, mangiare con amici e familiari è una parte importante di ciò che siamo.

Siamo naturalmente laboriosi e amiamo lavorare insieme, vivere, ridere e imparare con gli altri, che era una delle parti migliori delle nostre esperienze di lavoro prima - guardare i bambini giocare e lavorare insieme sulla terra, mentre tutti lavoravamo alla costruzione o alla creazione di un nuovo progetto. Possiamo lavorare entrambi da soli o come parte di un gruppo.

Abbiamo vissuto fuori dalla griglia prima dei bambini nel sud Italia in un trullo (tradizionale casa in pietra del sud Italia) e l'abbiamo restaurata usando malte di calce. Abbiamo costruito una doccia solare e un sistema di irrigazione per acque grigie, ci siamo presi cura dei nostri alberi e abbiamo coltivato un enorme appezzamento. È stato meraviglioso e abbiamo amato ogni secondo, ma non era il momento o il posto giusto per noi e quindi stiamo ripartendo alla ricerca di un posto selvaggio che possiamo rendere la nostra casa di famiglia.
