Beschreibung

I grew up in Northern California to a family of fruit and nut tree growers and spent my upbringing in the orchards and greenhouses. I continued on to university to gain a degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology and found my stride leading backcountry trips and teaching outdoor education to children all over the Western states.

Since then, I have lived and traveled all over Australia and New Zealand, gaining valuable experience living and working with locals on their lands. I have wwoofed all over, Merimbula in NSW, Arapawa Island in New Zealand, and Gold Beach in Oregon. Through each of these experiences, I have learned a new perspective on what conservation looks like to the people I have worked for. This has opened my mind to many different ways of viewing environmental problems and the varied solutions that can be applied. Since university, I have been intrigued by the connection between humans and the places we inhabit and I continue to look for work that will deepen and broaden my knowledge of this complex relationship.

While in Australia in 2023 and 2024, I worked on an organic farmstay in Margaret River, harvested grapes at 5 small-scale vineyards in the region, and worked at a hydroponic herb nursery in Burringbar, NSW. This work has ignited my desire to care for plants and support the abundance they bring to their ecosystems. My time working as an outdoor guide and educator has empowered me to step up as a leader when needed or simply bring a positive attitude and listening ear when faced with challenging weather, situations, or just plain long days.

My other passion is sewing and clothing design. I have built my own sustainable clothing collection over the last five years and have been so humbled by the work it takes to create something new in a sustainable way.
