Hello (future) friends! My name is Sophie and I am an English and History teacher from Melbourne, Australia.

I am travelling for around 6-12 months, and am hoping to see some of Egypt, Greece, Albania and many more places!

A bit about me :))
My favourite things to do when I’m in a new place are visiting museums and galleries, riding bikes, picnicking in local parks, hikes and walking trails, rummaging through charity shops and trying local cuisines.

I can also be a bit of a homebody at times, sometimes there’s nothing better than a hot cup of tea and a good book. In my down time, I enjoy baking (usually focaccia, pancakes or choc chip cookies), watercolours, yoga and board games.

I am an independent, reliable and positive person, and I want to be of use in any way I can! I’m happy to help out with any of the following:
- Childcare/babysitting (this is where the teaching degree - and lots of baby cousins - comes in handy)
- English language teaching/practice
- Feeding/walking/caring for pets
- Cooking meals
- Household chores
- Gardening

I am also enthusiastic about learning new skills, so this isn’t extensive list!

I am really excited to experience what it is like living in a culture that isn’t my own. I’m keen to immerse myself in Irish culture and beautiful nature while lending a helping hand.

Was noch ...

Teaching is absolutely my passion, and I love spending time with kids. Working as a relief teacher has taught me a lot about navigating chaos, thinking on my feet (especially when I’m handed a Year 3 PE class with no lesson plan) and always having a fun game in my back pocket for emergencies.

I have also had a variety of odd jobs which have given me a wide range of experience, including volunteering on an archaeological dig in Italy, working at a caravan park in the Central Australian desert and living on a farm in country Victoria (bottle feeding lambs is still the cutest thing I have ever experienced).
