Hello there!
My name is Sophia, I’m a 20 year old high school graduate from Germany and currently in my gap year. I've spent the last seven months (September to April) as an Au Pair in the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The experience was very enriching, and now that it's finished I'm looking for my next adventure.
In general I'm a very open-minded and curious person. I like to learn about other lifestyles, cultures and mindsets. Travelling is my way of getting to know more about the world and growing as a person. While I love visiting cities, I feel most comfortable in nature. My friends and family would probably describe me as thoughtful, versatile and creative. I'm very interested in arts, music and literature and plan to start studying literature and philosophy in September. Until then, I want to spend more time in France, working and exploring!

My mother tongue is German, but I started learning English in my second year of school, which is why I am basically fluent now. With French I started later, but I was able to improve it a lot during my Au Pair in Bordeaux. Although I don't sound as charming as French people yet, I can definetely make conversation. And of course I want to practice even more! I'm also interested in Spanish which I'd like to learn perspectively as my fourth language. While being in Bordeaux, I took french courses and taught german to friends while also communicating in English. I am very open to mixing and learning all kinds of languages. :-)

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Languages and creative things suit me best and have always been my strength and passion. I took part in different art projects and always need to express myself, most of all through writing and drawing in my scrap books. While being in school, I worked as service staff in our local cinema. My task was to supply customers with their favorite beverages and snacks while also selling tickets, which I really enjoyed. During my 7 months of Au Pair, I took care of a bright four year old boy, entertaining him after school and all day on wednesdays. We did all kinds of things, skateparc, picknicks, spectacles, basketball, self-invented games, origami,... there were really no boundaries. Of course I was able to learn a lot of french with my host family and I also took french language courses with a certificate in B2.

Was noch ...
I am very bound to the sea (and lakes) and I love nature in general. I really enjoy doing sports, most of all swimming and badminton as well as yoga, or simply going on long walks. I also play the piano and taught myself some chords on the guitar, and I am a passionate CD collector :-)
