Beschreibung

My name is Sofia, I’m 21 years old, and I live in Bogotá. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved nature, animals, sports, cooking, and art. Thanks to these interests and the support of my family, I’ve been able to explore and engage in many of these activities. On Christmas and other special occasions, I cook with my grandmother, who is Lithuanian, and she teaches me about her culture.

I’ve also spent a large part of my life swimming, and when I was younger, I competed in swimming tournaments. Throughout school, I played soccer on my school’s team, and in my free time, I enjoy playing tennis with my cousin. I’ve always felt deeply connected to animals, as we have a family farm where I learned to milk cows, ride horses, fish, and do many other activities related to animal care, which I truly enjoy. At the farm, I also learned a lot about agriculture, and my mom is very passionate about sustainable systems and silvopastoral practices to help combat climate change. Because of this, I’ve also developed a strong interest in this subject.

In my free time, I’m either at the farm helping out or dedicating myself to reading or painting, and lately, I’ve become very interested in ceramics. Since I was very young, I’ve been curious about how it’s possible for there to be so many different ways of seeing and living life, and how we all face challenges differently depending on our culture and environment.

For these reasons and many more, I would love to travel, discover new cultures, contribute in meaningful ways, and learn new and unimaginable things from others. I’m very excited to embrace everything these experiences have to offer.

My name is Gabriella, I’m 22 years old, and I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in a bicultural family. Since I was little, I’ve always been very creative and curious. I love photography, art and discovering new ways to express myself. I study photography in Germany and am currently in Mexiko for a year.
I enjoy visiting museums and exhibitions, cooking, and spending time with friends. I also love music and playing the ukulele. Besides my artistic side, I really enjoy organizing events and working in creative environments where I can connect with people and ideas.

Living in Germany has allowed me to experience different cultures and perspectives, which has made me even more interested in meeting new people, traveling, and learning from others. I’m a very open, cheerful, and organized person, and I love sharing my Latin American culture with the people around me.

For the past several years, I have worked at a summer camp in Germany where children from all over the world come together. This experience has taught me a lot about teamwork, responsibility, communication, and cultural diversity, and it has made me even more excited about opportunities like Workaway, where I can continue learning from others while contributing in meaningful ways.
