Hello!
I’m Shelley, an artist and illustrator based in the UK. I'm always looking for opportunities to travel, meet new people and explore new opportunities. That's why I love the Workaway platform so much and I feel lucky to have had many amazing and rewarding experiences over the years.
I've done x 6 Workaways so far since 2022:
(1) Portugal: Au pair, supporting family life and early years development
(2) Portugal: Horse Rescue Farm, assisted with care and rehabilitation in a therapeutic, horse-healing environment
(3) Veneto, Italy :Taught English to mixed age groups at a local language association school.
(4) Torino, Italy: Au pair and English tutor, focusing on language learning through play
(5) Sardinia, Italy: Designed and painted a large scale exterior mural for a rural farm
(6) Poland: Supported farm work and agritourism

I’ve been a freelance artist since 2012 alongside working with children as an early years professional. I've also worked as a nanny, au pair and a camp counsellor. My profession now is a personal tutor for college students.
I’ve travelled to various countries such as the USA, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and many countries within Europe, however my heart lies in Italy and I'm currently learning the language. I love to practice speaking Italian wherever possible!
Whether it’s contributing my time and skills or simply sharing stories over a cup of tea, I love meeting likeminded people and learning from different ways of life. Connection, curiousity, creativity and compassion are some of my strongest values.
