Hola, we are Shauna and Fionn, partners hailing from Ireland. Over the past three years, we've embraced a nomadic lifestyle, living and traveling in our self-converted campervan throughout Ireland and Europe. Our next adventure involves purchasing land in northern Spain next year, where we aim to create our haven—an off grid eco-home, forest garden, and sanctuary for local flora and fauna.

Our hope for this trip includes immersing ourselves in Mexican culture, improving our Spanish along the way and actively participate in any projects involving the land surrounding us. We're passionate about organic growing, permaculture design, forest gardening, eco-building, and off-grid, self-sustained living. With a wealth of skills and experience, Shauna recently completed a permaculture and horticulture course which she is eager to put into more practice, while my expertise lies in construction. Individually, we've successfully initiated and managed various hospitality businesses. We look forward to contributing to and expanding our knowledge in these projects while connecting with the local community.

A little bit about each of ourselves.

I, Shauna was working as a manager in a CBD cafe in my home town Galway before the pandemic hit. Then unemployed, I moved to a smaller village in Ireland which gave me a lot of time to think about ideas and interests I wanted to pursue! I really wanted to travel again always dreamed of doing it in a van so we thought what better way than to convert a camper van while we had so much time to spare. I'm very environmentally conscious and am interested in anything to do with sustainable living. I recently finished a permaculture and horticulture course and I'm eager to put everything I've learned into practice. Having been vegan for over 6 years now, I also have a number of great recipes the I love cooking for people. I enjoy reading, dancing, outdoor activities and have recently started learning to DJ which is super fun. I'm going to miss my dog a lot while travelling so I would also love to get involved in projects involving all sorts of animals!

I, Fionn have spent most of my adult life traveling. This journey has allowed me to connect with diverse individuals from various walks of life and acquire a multitude of skills through a wide array of jobs and workaways.
My main experience and passion for employment is in construction, Specifically in 1st fit carpentry. However, My hope is to focus my attention on sustainable and ecofriendly building. I have plenty of experience and anything I don't know I'm eager to learn. Raised in an alternative counterculture community centered around self-sufficiency, this ethos takes precedence in my life. Within this industry I've also worked in landscape design, concrete form work, roofing and site crew, set design and building festivals within Ireland
In workaways, I've managed beach bar hostels in Cambodia as well as working many hostels around the world. This involved maintaining cleanliness in living spaces and beds, ensuring they were welcoming for new arrivals creating an atmosphere for other travelers.
In hospitality, I've managed five coffee shops and started four of those, being on the floor and the social media marketing accounts. Ive worked in a range of hospitality positions including barista and in the kitchen and trained over thirty people into the workforce.
Personally, I love obtaining new skills and reading and anything outdoors(surfing, hiking, rock climbing, snorkelling).

Hola, somos Shauna y Fionn, socios procedentes de Irlanda. En los últimos tres años, hemos adoptado un estilo de vida nómada, viviendo y viajando en nuestra autocaravana por Irlanda y Europa. Nuestra próxima aventura consiste en comprar un terreno en el norte de España el año que viene, donde queremos crear nuestro paraíso: una casa ecológica aislada, un jardín forestal y un santuario para la flora y la fauna locales.

Nuestra esperanza para este viaje incluye sumergirnos en la cultura mexicana, mejorar nuestro español por el camino y participar activamente en cualquier proyecto relacionado con la tierra que nos rodea. Nos apasiona el cultivo orgánico, el diseño de permacultura, la jardinería forestal, la construcción ecológica y la vida autosostenida fuera de la red. Shauna, que cuenta con una gran experiencia y conocimientos, ha realizado recientemente un curso de permacultura y horticultura que está deseando poner en práctica, mientras que yo soy experto en construcción. Individualmente, hemos iniciado y gestionado con éxito varios negocios de hostelería. Estamos deseando contribuir y ampliar nuestros conocimientos en estos proyectos a la vez que conectamos con la comunidad local.

Un poco sobre cada uno de nosotros.


Yo, Shauna, trabajaba como gerente en un café CBD en mi ciudad natal, Galway, antes de que la pandemia golpeara. Me quedé en paro y me mudé a un pueblo más pequeño de Irlanda, lo que me dio mucho tiempo para pensar en ideas e intereses que quería perseguir. Tenía muchas ganas de volver a viajar y siempre había soñado con hacerlo en furgoneta, así que pensamos que qué mejor manera que convertir una autocaravana mientras tuviéramos tanto tiempo libre. Estoy muy concienciada con el medio ambiente y me interesa todo lo relacionado con la vida sostenible. Hace poco terminé un curso de permacultura y horticultura y estoy deseando poner en práctica todo lo que he aprendido. Como soy vegana desde hace más de 6 años, tengo un montón de recetas estupendas y me encanta cocinar para la gente. Me gusta leer, bailar, las actividades al aire libre y recientemente he empezado a aprender a ser DJ, lo cual es muy divertido. Voy a echar mucho de menos a mi perro mientras viajo, así que me encantaría participar en proyectos relacionados con todo tipo de animales.

Yo, Fionn, he pasado la mayor parte de mi vida adulta viajando. Este viaje me ha permitido conectar con diversas personas de diversos ámbitos de la vida y adquirir una multitud de habilidades a través de una amplia gama de puestos de trabajo y workaways.
Mi principal experiencia y pasión por el empleo es en la construcción, Específicamente en carpintería de 1er ajuste. Sin embargo, mi esperanza es centrar mi atención en la construcción sostenible y respetuosa con el medio ambiente. Tengo mucha experiencia y todo lo que no sé estoy ansioso por aprender. Criado en una comunidad contracultura alternativa centrada en la autosuficiencia, este ethos tiene prioridad en mi vida. Dentro de esta industria también he trabajado en el diseño del paisaje, el trabajo de encofrado de hormigón, techos y el sitio de la tripulación, la construcción de festivales en Irlanda
En workaways, he gestionado albergues de chiringuitos en Camboya, además de trabajar en muchos albergues de todo el mundo. Esto implicó el mantenimiento de la limpieza en los espacios de vida y camas, asegurándose de que eran acogedores para los recién llegados la creación de un ambiente para otros viajeros.
En hostelería, he gestionado cinco cafeterías y he puesto en marcha cuatro de ellas, estando en la planta y en las cuentas de marketing de las redes sociales. He trabajado en diversos puestos de hostelería, como barista y en la cocina, y he formado a más de treinta personas.
Personalmente, me encanta adquirir nuevas habilidades y la lectura y cualquier cosa al aire libre (surf, senderismo, escalada, buceo).

We bring a host of skills between us having both managed hospitality businesses for years. These roles included cheffing, online marketing, man management, accounts, speciality coffee brewing, housekeeping and much more. I, Fionn have also worked extensively in the construction, professional driving and landscaping industries as well as adventure tourism. We both are great at cooking and have really enjoyed cooking meals for friends in previous houses we've lived in. We can work on our own initiative or as a team
