Ciao!
My name is Roberto, I’m 26 yo and I come from Sardinia, Italy.
After graduating in Marketing in 2024, I started working to fund my Working Holiday adventure in New Zealand.

My biggest passions are traveling, sailing, astronomy, and cinema — but above all, I’m a curious soul who’s always asking questions and looking for meaning in things.
I’m super friendly and open-minded, and over the years I’ve had the chance to connect with people from all over the world while living in Italy, Austria, and now New Zealand.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to several countries, but I feel I’ll never get tired of discovering new places.
Sailing was my sport and way of life for over 10 years. I had to pause it for a while, but I really hope to get back to it soon.

In terms of work experience, I’ve mainly worked as a sailing instructor for kids, barista, waiter, social media manager and winter pruner in a kiwi orchard in NZ. I also help my father manage his small hotel back in Sardinia.

Personality-wise, I’m quite reserved and simple at first, maybe a bit introverted — but once I connect with people, I open up and bring out my best self: cheerful, funny, and thoughtful.

I’m open to all kinds of experiences that allow for genuine human exchange — learning something new and giving something in return.
That’s exactly why I’m here, and I’m super excited to start this Workaway journey!

Over the years, I’ve developed a range of skills through different work and study experiences — and above all, I bring strong versatility, adaptability, and a positive attitude to every environment I step into.

My first experience was as a sailing instructor during summer courses for children aged 6 to 12, which taught me patience, leadership, and how to create a safe and fun learning space.
I’ve also worked as a barista, waiter, and social media manager, gaining strong communication skills, a sense of service, and the ability to stay calm and organized even under pressure.

Academically, I studied marketing at university, which helped me develop strong planning, strategic thinking, and digital skills. I’m very comfortable working with computers, and I have experience in video editing, writing, presentation-making, and social media management.

Personally, I’m someone who learns quickly, adapts easily, and enjoys both working independently and in a team. I’m highly organized, punctual, and I enjoy solving problems creatively.
I’m also very mindful of sustainability — a value I’ve studied, embraced, and try to practice in my everyday life.

Lastly, I take great care in building good human connections, and I love working in environments where collaboration, learning, and respect are at the center.

Was noch ...

Back home in Sardinia, I have a dog named Nala and a cat named Luna — I absolutely adore them! I genuinely love all animals and would be happy to spend time with yours, help take care of your pets, or simply be around them again.
I also feel very comfortable with kids and really enjoy interacting with them — especially when we share common interests or get to learn from each other.

Although I’m not officially vegetarian, I’ve significantly reduced my meat consumption over the past years, and I would love to learn more about vegetarian lifestyles and cooking. I enjoy spending time in the kitchen and would be happy to cook you a good plate of pasta while sharing stories and traditions from my region!

I’m also very interested in sustainable living and always try to make choices that align with eco-friendly values. If you’re involved in a sustainability-focused project, that’s definitely a big plus for me.

And if you’re curious about Sardinia, I’d be more than happy to tell you all about its landscapes, history, culture, and cuisine — it’s a special place that I love sharing with others.
