Beschreibung

Hello everyone! We are Rachele and Mirko, both from Siena, which is located in Tuscany (Italy). I am 31 years old, I have a degree in law, and I currently work for a public institution, but I don't rule out the possibility of changing direction, as I have done in the past. I am the oldest of a brother and two younger sisters, with whom I am very close, so I am used to and inclined towards sharing. I’ve been playing volleyball since I was 12, and through this sport, I have learned the importance and value of teamwork, commitment, and determination.
Mirko is 36 years old, he has a degree in biotechnology, and works in a pharmaceutical company. Shortly after finishing university, he opened a restaurant because he has always had a passion (and talent) for cooking. We both have strong personalities and value our own ideas, but there is great communication between us, and when this leads to discussions, we talk until we find common ground.
We love our city and are very attached to our local area, but we are also curious and eager to challenge ourselves, to discover cultures and places different from those we are used to, while respecting them. I have already had an experience in Sweden through Workaway, and it was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Specifically, I transported, cut, and stacked firewood, worked in the garden weeding, picked blackberries, and helped around the house. But above all, I built a precious bond with the family that hosted me and with the other Workawayers.
For these reasons, I would love for Mirko to experience the same emotions I felt, and I am excited to share new ones with him. I believe this is the most genuine and profound way to travel and be enchanted by the world. We live in the city, but we also dream of a life immersed in nature, where we can slow down and rediscover ourselves. We love animals, especially horses, due to the deep connection between our city and these incredible creatures. We can't wait to meet those who will welcome us!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I love children, and I believe I’m good at connecting with them and making them feel as comfortable as they make me feel. Since I was a little girl, I’ve taken care of my three younger siblings; I’ve also worked as a babysitter and as a volleyball coach, where I taught them teamwork and encouraged their creativity through activities like drawing, painting, singing, dancing, and acting.
My mom always placed great importance on housekeeping, so my siblings and I learned to do household chores from a young age.
During my law studies, I also worked as a waitress in a restaurant, as an event hostess, and as a bartender. For a year, I volunteered at a nursing home for the elderly.
I’ve written a few articles for a local newspaper as well.
In 2023 I’ve had an experience in Sweden through Workaway where I transported, cut, and stacked firewood, worked in the garden weeding, picked blackberries, and helped around the house.
I’m a quick learner, curious, and determined to take on new tasks!!

Was noch ...

I lived six months in Paris (thanks to the "Erasmus for traineeship"project) and it was one of the most beautiful and important experience of my life.
