hello! my name is sofia.
i started volunteering when i was 15 and i have been in love ever since. i quickly discovered the immense value in engaging with my community. i found myself connecting with such loving people with beautiful wisdom and learning so much.

I especially love crafting things, I mostly have miscellaneous craft experience from fixing at home, shelves, lamps, cabinets, jewelry and other metal stuff. I am strong and confident at working with my hands and good at working with tools. Im more than willing to put in the work to learn a new skill. If you find a sort of task involving this I would be happy to put my work into it!

I am also good at organization and it is something I like to do. Whether it means sorting, decluttering, or just cleaning out an area and putting it back nice and neatly.

more than anything i enjoy connecting with the world and those surrounding me. including but not limited to: teaching and being taught, cooking food, reading, taking care of animals and plants, listening music, and engaging in puzzles and games

a special interest of mine is sustainability. a goal of mine is to learn how to create a home that can sustain itself and help to sustain the those around it. how to create a home, grow my own food, take care of animals and everything of the sort!

so far i've volunteered (not on workaway but permanently back home): at a horse ranch, 2 local food banks and a thrift store. (the details and experience of which are below!)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

- Independence and Proactivity -
After working for myself (5 yrs.) as a pet caretaker I developed my independance skills.
I am able to complete tasks independently, to learn skills quickly and manage my time efficiently

- animal care -
I've been working taking care of cats and dogs for over 5 years now. (A business I ran myself)
I spent about 3 years volunteering at a horse ranch where horse riding is therapy for children with disabilities. i worked with children helping them to ride and engage with horses. i learned to feed and groom horses myself as well!

- crafting -
I have loved creating since childhood and I am good at both making and mending things. I love to sew, draw, write and more! whatever i don't know how to make or fix i can want to learn how to! this includes woodworking, toolmaking, or a different skill you need.

- technology -
I'm proficient in software computer skills.


Volunteer History:

-Horse Empowered Learning Programs (once a week for 3 years)

-Central Texas Food Bank (1 month)

-St. Vincent de Paul Food bank (once every 2 weeks for 1 years)

-St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store (2-5 times a week for 1 year)
