Hey there! 🌞

We are Victoria and Maxime (26&30yo), we come from Russia and France. We've been living in Montenergo for a while, and then went on a several-month journey to Central America. There, we fell in love with the jungle life, and that made us want to explore South-East Asia for the entire 2026! 🌴

We love nature and both are passionate about the ocean 🌊 (Victoria is saving sea turtles and wants to become a marine biologist!🐢). Victoria loves yoga and meditation, and she's planning to head to India for her 200hYTT at the end of SEA trip. She loves sea turtles, swing dance, gardening, and hiking. Max loves fishing and spearfishing, airbrush painting, he knows about mechanics, and even builds his own motorbikes!

We appreciate simple and tranquil lifestyle, far away from the cities, in connection with nature🌿. We love good organic food and enjoy cooking. Victoria is an English teacher, Maxime is working on his own software and websites. We work remotely and have flexible hours. We are very kind and easy-going, and we love positive vibes!

What drives us the most about Workaway is the opportunity to meet locals, experience different/alternative lifestyles, learn new things and skills, and make new friends! We will be happy to help out at farmstays and permacultures, to take care of animals, help you with DIY, mechanics, gardening, social media and websites! We are open to learning new skills, and we learn fast! We love spending time with nice people, we are very open to share our own cultures and are willing to learn others. We travel the world because we want to discover our place to settle down one day, where we would love to have a big garden and produce our own food.

Victoria:
Gardening — planting, weeding, harvesting, caring for plants. I enjoy working outdoors. I have some experience pet sitting, plus, we also have a dog! I can take photos and do some crafts, can show you some basics of swing dance. I really want to learn carpentry and construction!

Maxime: I’m comfortable with mechanics and tools, and I enjoy repairing things when I can — from engines and equipment to small tools. I’ve built a couple of motorbikes, and I’m always happy to learn more! Painting is a big passion of mine too, especially airbrush and creative projects. I've been working professionally on websites and software, so I can help with any digital tasks.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Learn my family's traditional ...)

This volunteering experience with Marina felt like a great adventure! During the call before our arrival, it was already clear what a caring and interesting person Marina was. She picked us up (me, Grazia and Davide) from the train station, and then we ventured to our first cultural activity: that day the village was celebrating a church holiday.… read more Marina introduced us to so many of her friends and neighbours (who are also lovely people) and fully immersed us into the culture of Montenegro, which I appreciate endlessly. I was able to feel a part of a local community for this ~1 week of my stay!
The work itself was very pleasant for me. Before our arrival, Marina ensured to get all the tools for us (and even buy some new ones) to feel comfortable doing the job. Mainly, we were cleaning drystone walls from poison ivy and other plants around, and then burning it, but also we helped a little around the property (e.g. we made a compost and weeded around). Marina was taking us literally everywhere in our free time. We visited the beach next to an absolutely stunning walking route, we saw Virpazar, we walked an Austro-Hungarian hiking route down the river, where Marina was sharing heartwarming stories about her childhood and how reasons why it is important to preserve that place. We were also able to taste local wine Vranac and home-made Rakija! (the village is Montenegro's wine region) Marina was such an inspiration, who was really concerned about the cultural heritage of her country and the village in particular. At our days off, Marina showed us Cetinje, Kotor, Lovcen National Park, and then we went for a hike with a local guide. It was just a perfect match of people fond of linguistics, as we would always compare the words we use in our languages (Serbian, Russian, English, Italian, and Swedish), which was a perfect language exchange for me!
The village is absolutely stunning, located on a mountain with incredible (to my taste) views. There alre lots of places and hiking routes to see and walk. It was a small paradise. Marina gave us her own room to live in, which was really cozy, and we had our own bathroom as well (with a heater for hot water). We were cooking in turns, and Marina ensured to follow each one's diet (I am pescetarian), so everyone was happy. I miss the orange cat and that wonderful time we spent together <3
