Beschreibung

Hi! My name is Núria and I´m 18. I´m hoping to spend the summer before I start university doing volunteer work that allows me to really become part of a local community. I will be travelling with my older brother (19) who has done a lot of volunteer work on Workaway. I’d love to help out in practical ways, whether that’s teaching children English or Music/Dance/Drama, supporting families with daily tasks, or getting involved in community or farm projects. I’m especially drawn to rural environments and to the chance to experience a culture that’s different from my own.

I was born and raised in Spain to British/American parents, so I grew up speaking both English and Spanish. Music, dance and drama have always been a huge part of my life. I´m a ballerina, I play piano, sing, and cello, and I have basic guitar skills. I´ve also played lead roles in Musical Theatre productions. I’ll soon be studying Songwriting and Music Production at NYU Steinhardt, and I’ve released some of my own music on Spotify. Sharing music, drama and dance with children is something I’m really passionate about, as I believe it’s a powerful way to connect, build confidence, and have fun together.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel widely with my family, including trips to India, Nepal, Colombia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Seeing how people live in different parts of the world from a young age has shaped the way I see things and made me eager to learn from others. My parents volunteered in underprivileged communities when they were younger, and that really inspired me to want to do the same.

I have experience teaching English, piano, singing, dance, and drama to children of all ages, and I’m very comfortable with simple living conditions. I´m sociable and I make friends easily. As I get ready for this next chapter of my life, I’m excited to contribute wherever I can, learn from the people around me, and hopefully make meaningful connections and friendships along the way.
