Hello I'm Nel! I graduated this past May (2025) with a degree in environmental anthropology. I love being out in nature and exposing myself to lifestyles different from my own.
I am looking for an opportunity to travel, adventure and integrate into a new pace of life. I want to soak up any skills/knowledge I can, particularly in environmental preservation, traditional ecological knowledge, language/cultural exchanges, and art projects. As an anthropologist, I am well equipped with knowledge (and a BIG passion) of how to integrate into other cultures. I find it so enriching to be granted the chance to connect with people from different walks of life.
A little about myself..
I am a former dancer who returns to movement regularly. I practice yoga and meditation daily. I am a well seasoned hiker and camper.
This past summer, I interned with the Texas State Parks, where I gained hands-on experience in ecological management practices, specifically maintaining natural and cultural resources. Most recently, I completed a season in outdoor conservation work. We built trails, planted saplings in burn sites, felled trees, and operated chainsaws. I enjoy living and working in close proximity to nature. I find so much purpose in this lifestyle.
I have a vast horizon of artistic interests, writing, dance, fashion and visual art. I love talking ecology as my relationship to nature is super important to me. I'd love to work in an environment where I can maintain these artistic relationships.
As a bonus, I've done ample research on Indigenous populations in Latin America, so I am really interested in seeing these spaces in person !!!
I would also really love to learn and improve my Spanish through immersion!!

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I have worked at an organic juice bar for 3 and a half years. I prepared food, cleaned, and handled all aspects of customer service and learned the values of natural remedies! I have picked up a good idea of flavor profiles for juices, smoothies and coffee drinks.
As a former dancer, I have experience with teaching technique classes as well as creating choreography.
I have experience with maintaining land, weeding and gardening. I would love to learn more about sustainable permaculture!
