Hello everyone!

We're Mark and Rhonda, a married couple who sold everything we owned in August 2022 and are now slowly traveling the world. We are passionate about international travel, exploring the natural world, language learning, accumulating unique experiences, and learning about different cultures wherever our wanderings take us.

We enjoy meeting new people and love being able to try out new things! We also love the great outdoors, so many of our interests center around that and sharing our experiences with others.

My background (Mark) was as a professor of zoology, so I love exploring the natural world through a sustainability and conservation lens. Rhonda has a background in botany and environmental science but is also a trained emergency room nurse with experience working with special needs patients.

Despite our science backgrounds, we have a wide range of skills and interests. These include teaching, animal care (including exotics), photography, cooking, home care and repair, automotive repair, gardening, landscaping, beer brewing, technology, language exchange, and much more. We are eager to volunteer for any project that is interesting or unique!

We are proactive, hard-working, and open to different ways of thinking. And as experienced campers, we are used to operating in more remote environments with fewer amenities.

We would enjoy working as part of a team. It was a major part of our pre-travel professional lives and we would welcome the opportunity to work with others toward a common goal.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

MARK:
Prior to our travels, I was a professor of biology/environmental science. I have almost 30 years of experience teaching a wide range of environmental science subjects, leading groups, doing fieldwork, and coordinating research projects. I also have considerable experience with pet and exotic animal care/husbandry.

I have a similar amount of experience using word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation software at a professional level. I am most comfortable using Windows, ChromeOS, and Linux operating systems, but I can use iOS as well. I also have significant experience with WordPress website development and photo/video editing, as well as basic HTML/CSS coding skills.

I can perform a wide range of home, automotive, and small engine repairs if the right tools are available. I also have experience with photography, gardening, beer brewing, firewood processing, landscaping, hiking trail maintenance, animal care/capture/rehabilitation, and small-scale farming practices.

RHONDA:
Rhonda has a broad professional skill set from a range of areas including forestry, forensic science, environmental education, and most recently, nursing.

As a nurse, she worked in neurology, cardiology, trauma/medical surgical/intensive care, and emergency room units of various hospitals. And most recently she was a director of nursing at a non-profit organization providing day habilitation and residential services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

She has experience in cooking, photography, gardening, landscaping, homemaking, and carpentry. She also has experience with wildlife rehabilitation, trail work, and related fieldwork. She also has experience with making pottery and would love to improve her skill set.

Was noch ...

We love hiking, camping, and the great outdoors. Maintaining our strength and fitness is important to us, so we enjoy all sorts of physical activities and exercise. We also enjoy writing about our travels and our multimedia skill set while on the road.
