(Miguel) - "I am as young as my ambitions" This phrase expresses what I feel, the driving force that propels me to explore new things. If you'd like, you can include me in the "The Silver Generation" group, but don't let this label deceive you: I am a retired teacher, fortunate to reach this stage in life, full of health and eager to continue incorporating new experiences. I taught English and computer skills as a means of livelihood; my hobby as a swimming coach has been with me for decades. Sharing knowledge and being open to what others can teach me is what makes me happy. My English level is C2 and A1 in Italian (CEFR)

(María) - My name is María, and I am a specialised early childhood psychopedagogue with over 30 years of experience working with children aged 0 to 4. This role involved coordinating activities with other professionals and institutions. Through these practices, I incorporated my focus on attention to detail and efficiency, which I transfer to household cleaning and maintenance tasks. I particularly enjoy gardening, and finding satisfaction in caring for and beautifying green spaces.

During my years of professional practice as a psychopedagogue, I learned to design and make the so-called "attachment dolls" and didactic materials. Today, retired, I continue to do so as a hobby or to give to the children or grandchildren of my friends.

My focus on attention to detail and efficiency makes me well-suited for household cleaning and maintenance tasks. I particularly enjoy gardening, finding satisfaction in caring for and beautifying green spaces.

In my free time, I have cultivated a deep connection with wellness practices such as Tai Chi and Chi Kung, with over 14 years of experience in both. For the past 2 years, I have also incorporated yoga into my daily routine, providing an additional balance to my life.

Furthermore, I want to highlight my language skills: I possess a A2 level in Italian and A1 level in English (CEFR) , enabling me to communicate adequately in both languages.

In May 2024 we volunteered near Edinburgh, Scotland (https://www.workaway.info/en/host/222852952885), it was a wonderful experience!!!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Retired ICT and English teacher and swimming coach. In my 30 years of teaching, I acquired the ability to interpret the needs of others and put myself on par to resolve situations, whether inside the classroom or more concrete things. For example, as head of the ICT department, the principal of the secondary school where I worked gave me the responsibility of designing, implementing, and maintaining everything related to the hardware and networks of said educational establishment, in addition to training teachers and students in the use of what at that time was called "new technologies". From that experience, I learned to transfer those organizational skills to more everyday things such as home maintenance, order and cleaning, or helping someone solve practical problems. As the saying goes, "Once a teacher, always a student," I am always open to learning new things and accepting directives. I have always been curious about exploring new cultures and immersing myself in diverse experiences. I believe that participating in a work and travel experience will be the perfect opportunity to achieve this.
