Beschreibung

We are Merle (she/her) and Silian (he/him), two close friends and flatmates from Germany. We are both students and enjoy spending time together, whether that’s cooking, travelling, or meeting new people.

One of our shared passions is cooking (especially vegan meals). We love preparing food for friends, family, or our flatmates and are always curious to try out new recipes and learn from different food cultures.

At the moment, Merle is doing an Erasmus semester in Graz until March. We decided to use this time as an opportunity to travel together and gain new experiences through Workaway.

We are cheerful, open-minded people who enjoy sharing laughter and positive energy. We like being active, meeting new people, and contributing wherever help is needed – having a helping hand comes naturally to us.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Silian studies Psychology in Bielefeld and has a strong interest in theatre and music. He completed a voluntary year abroad in Ireland, where he lived and worked with people with disabilities. Through this experience, he gained valuable skills in intercultural communication and cooking for groups. He also regularly helps his family with seasonal gardening, especially hedge cutting.

Merle completed a voluntary year at a school for children with disabilities in Germany. Before that, she lived in Spain as an au pair and worked in intercultural education. She is very interested in plants and gardening. Her room is full of houseplants, and last year she grew tomatoes and herbs in her small garden.

Was noch ...

During our Workaway experiences, we would love to learn more about local food, cooking traditions, and cultural practices. We are especially excited to spend time in nature and experience everyday life from a local perspective.

Silian enjoys visiting theatres and discovering new plays and artistic concepts. A big part of Merle’s free time is dedicated to dancing, especially salsa and other social dance styles, which she is very passionate about.
