Beschreibung

Hello hello! We’re Megs (or Meggie, 26) from the South Coast of England and Lukas (27) from Belgium, an engaged couple (soon to be married!) with a shared love of adventure. We’re a happy-go-lucky, curious pair who just want to squeeze the most out of our younger years while we can, and like to think we bring good humour, curiosity, and plenty of warmth wherever we go.

In 2026, we’ll be hitting the road in our freshly converted camper van, chasing our next adventure. We’ve got a few bits in the diary throughout the year, but we’re keen to slow things down to pause, learn new skills, and hear the stories of people we meet along the way. We’ve always believed the best way to travel is to stay put for a while, to really get to know a place & people beneath the surface and we’re so excited to dive into Workaway as a way to do just that.

Meg's background is in community management & event/festival production, and she studied (&still loves) philosophy! Lukas has a background in hospitality and surf-camp management, but originally trained as a nurse. We’re both unfussy, hard-working, and happy to muck in wherever needed, with experience across hospitality, logistics, childcare, and hands-on DIY or woodwork , and we’re always up for learning something new. We're also experienced House/Pet Sitters ( we can share our Trusted HouseSitters profile with you as a reference).

We’d especially love to keep growing our skills in carpentry, natural building, foraging, permaculture, sailing, crafts, and hospitality management, but we also know the best experiences often come from unexpected people and places, so we’re open to anything that teaches us something new.

Outside of work, we love writing, painting, surfing, hiking, and just generally being outdoors. Between us we speak English, French, and Dutch! We’ll be travelling from January 2026 onwards, open to stays from a few weeks up to a couple of months, though we’re very flexible if it’s a good fit!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We both have years of experience in hospitality, childcare/teaching, and are pretty organisationally savvy (ops/logistics) too, both good cooks and have experience cooking for large groups! Lukas is a real creative and great at painting and drawing and is also TEFL qualified.

We are both fit and keen to do physical labour! We have basic DIY skills, including woodwork. Since we recently converted our camper, we have some basic knowledge on electrical & plumbing systems.

We also both have full driving licenses and can also ride motorbikes.

Was noch ...

We love planning fun events for friends and family, the kind with full-blown themes, weekend-long games, and plenty of laughter. Lukas used to be a Scout leader, so he’s basically a walking encyclopedia of games and can turn almost anything into an adventure.

In the evenings, we’re happiest playing board games/chatting with new friends, scrapbooking, or writing! Lukas is also currently producing a podcast featuring scientists and researchers exploring life after death, a topic close to him, (having once been clinically dead himself!) Meg’s hoping this next chapter brings more space for writing essays her favourite way to reflect and make sense of the world!
