Hey guys, I am Marlies, 27 years old and from Austria. I just finished my Bachelor´s Degree and now going on a 6 month trip to Portugal to do Workaway. I am a really honest, self-reflective and open-minded person. My friends call me a social butterfly, which is true, but I also enjoy time by myself, reading a book or crocheting and listening to a podcast. The last four years I lived in Innsbruck and enjoyed being surrounded by nature and mountains, able to go snowboarding, skiing, hiking or jogging. As my grandma used to have a farm I grew up with horses, chicken, goose, cats and dogs, so I would love to spend some of my time in Portugal on a farm with horses. I also tried surfing which I really loved so it would be nice to live by the ocean. With 13 I started to babysit my little neighbours which was probably my first Job. With 16 I started working in a restaurant which I still do in Innsbruck nowadays, combined with a job in the free cultural scene of Innsbruck, which I really enjoy. As you can see I am a really open person and enjoy trying a lot of new things, so I can imagine myself in a lot of different jobs - taking care of pets on a farm, garden work, office management, house keeping, teaching, etc.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My experience in the working world includes tourism (in a bike shop in Vancouver), gastronomy (as a waitress in a restaurant) and kids! A lot of working with kids. I started babysitting, when I was 13 and right now I am doing PE with kindergarten kids. Apart from that I am really keen learning new things. I am always up to broaden my horizon and to learn something new!

Was noch ...

I am a big reader, always up to learn about new things about the world, people, history or whatever my eye catches in the book store. Right now I am starting to take horseback riding lessons, which I wanted to do since ever haha, so finally it´s coming true. And also I am doing kickboxing twice a week at the moment. I am also into Yoga and Meditation and I love cooking. I think my favorite sport is surfing! I would also love to work in a surf school, that would be really cool or something close to the sea would be my dream.
