Hi!

I'm Chiara, I'm 24 years old and I currently work as a nurse. I consider nursing one of the most meaningful jobs in the world. I genuinely enjoy taking care of people, listening to them and being part of their healing process. At the same time, lately I've been feeling the need for a change. Working in the small hospital of my hometown can sometimes feel a little limiting, and I feel like I need to step outside of what I already know, discover new ways of living and learn different, more unconventional and alternative approaches to caring for people and for ourselves, also different from occidental medicine. And be more in contact with nature!

I'm at a point in my life where I feel the need to slow down, look around and reconnect with myself. I would like to take some time to understand what I really want, to discover new perspectives and, most importantly, to challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone. I believe that travelling, meeting new people and experiencing different ways of living can teach us a lot about ourselves.

I am fascinated by people's stories. I love listening to the people I meet and getting inspired by their experiences, their choices and the different ways they see the world. This is one of the reasons why I love travelling: every person and every place has something to teach us.

I'm quite shy and insecure at first, especially when I'm in a completely new environment, but once I feel comfortable and gain some confidence, I become much more outgoing, playful and open. I actually think that being a little uncomfortable is exactly what I need right now — I want to push myself, meet new people and become more confident in who I am.

I have many passions and hobbies connected to nature, creativity and handicrafts, and I'm always curious to try something new, learn a new skill or simply discover something I've never experienced before. I love activities that allow me to move my body, especially hiking and exploring new places.

I am still learning to find inner peace (I have so many unanswered question at this point of my life, I think it is normal for a 24 years old girl who is thinking about future hahha) and to take bettere care of my body and mind and definitely don't have all the answers, but I would love to meet people through Workaway who can inspire me and from whom I can learn more about these aspects of life.

I'm also drawn to simple and minimalist ways of living. I love being in nature, sleeping in a tent, hiking, cooking over a fire, spending time outdoors and enjoying the feeling of being free. I try to make conscious choices about what I eat and how I live, and I care about environmental and ecological projects. I love music, and in my world it's completely normal to pick up a guitar and start playing and singing. Music, laughter and a bit of joking around are probably some of my favourite ways of making hard work feel lighter and everyday life more enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to this new little chapter (even if just few days to take distance frome job routine), to getting my hands dirty, learning, helping, meeting people and seeing life from different perspectives. I don't really know exactly where this journey will take me yet — and maybe that's part of what I'm looking for. I just know that I want to experience something new, reconnect with myself and come back home with a better understanding of who I am and what I want.

I hope to meet beautiful people, share experiences, learn from each other and create some good memories along the way. :)
