Beschreibung

Naturally, I've always been curious. New environments and surroundings keep my spirit youthful while growing wise, continuously learning, staying excited and present for even the mundane activities. I enjoy painting, biking, gardening, sports, and anything outdoors.

I served in the US Peace Corps in Madagascar for three years, where I lived in a rural community and participated in many projects focused on agriculture and the environment, in addition to activities about youth development, sports, community health, and English teaching; a powerful and humbling experience, as well as a beautiful culture.

Upon evacuation from Madagascar because of the pandemic, I completed a solo cross-country journey (~6,000 miles) across the United States sleeping in my tent and locals' homes along the way. I learned so much about this country, saw some of the most beautiful spaces in nature, and met the most amazing individuals along the way.

Since the start of 2021, I sold original and commissioned paintings that were inspired by my travels. This inspired me to pursue a Workaway project for seven weeks in Lagos, Nigeria. I offered art classes and mural projects for elementary school students. Even in a short time, I found this experience so impactful, mainly because of the hospitality and openness of the people; I grew very close with the students, teachers, and my hosts. Following this experience I was a teaching assistant for 2 months in my niece's class in Detroit, Michigan.

My most recent Workaway experience was at a hostel on Kaua'i for four months (July-Nov. 2021). A very inspiring and stimulating experience maintaining a space, hosting people from all over the world, meeting new faces every day, and exchanging stories.

I have a lot of energy fueled by love and gratitude that I wish to pay forward and share with others.
