I'm interested in farming, especially working with cattle and horses.

Hey!
My name is Liv Grete, but you can call me Liv which is mostly easier ;).
I’m from northern Germany, 20 years old and graduated in 2023.
I spend 15 months in Canada working on beef cattle and horse farms, caring for all different kind of farm animals which were mostly cows and horses.
I learned how to train young horses, expand my knowledge in western riding (I was barely used to it before, only English riding) and do any kind of work with cows as vaccinating, branding, working at the stockyards, driving cows via horse back and even a little bit of roping.
Also, I have some knowledge of fencing and a bit of gardening as well.
Travelling has always been my passion.
I love new challenges and I’m still dreaming about exploring the world one day…
I like to keep myself busy by meeting up with friends, baking and cooking, going to the gym and for walks, spending time with my family or reading a good book.
I enjoy rather being inside than outside regardless of weather.
As I spend quite a long time working on different farms, I learned a lot about cattle and loved working with these incredible animals. A dream of mine would be to own a few cows and horses myself, in a few years.
Horses have always been a big part of my life, as I have been riding since I was little and took responsibility for some shared horses.
In Canada I learned how to ride proper western Quarter horses, which I enjoyed immensely!
I have always been enthusiastic about animals… probably because I grew up in a small village and riding and walking the dogs of our neighbours were a daily routine.
My friends describe me as empathetic, open, caring and well-organised.
I love meeting new people and exploring new things especially in areas I have yet to experience.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I would consider myself knowledgeable about horses, dogs, cows and some farm animals in general, due to my previous workaway experience.
When I was younger I used to walk our neighbours dogs every day and learned more about dogs in general over time, as my neighbour also was a dog trainer!
I also gained some knowledge about training young horses via the Jonathan Field method.
I can quickly remember numbers, as of cow tags for example, and enjoy working independently as well as in a team.
Also, I know how to fix a fence and assist during a cow birth.

I'm used to living in a big group but can also entertain myself alone.
I mostly always was around animals, while growing up, even though I never possessed a dog or a horse myself.
I enjoy going for sunset rides and love a good canter with my friends :)
